Wolfe, calm down mate. You're doing well and you want Jovic?!?

Yes. Because we have a Clasico and Benz prick doesn't need to be there at the moment.

And he takes off our most important offensive player

Not even close to VVD level but been solid for Real and a large part of why VVD is also held up as best in world is ability on ball and threat going forward. All plays in.

Dunno why you're choosing to read what you want man. I said 'en route to'. His fundamentals are rock solid and he doesn't choke big games. It's what you need for a great defender these days.

The reason possession based teams are frail in CL KO away games is because possession based football by its very nature involves intricate build-up in which the majority of the team has to push forward. So, if the attacking combination doesn't work out (whether you have them pinned in the box or are pinging it forward intricately on a counter), if you lose the ball you won't have men behind the ball.

With a counter attacking team, even on the attack you have men behind the ball because it's 1-2, sometimes 3 talented attackers on the break. The midfield stays behind the ball.

This is pretty much self evident at this point. 08-11 Barca was an anomaly similar to how Sacchi's Milan was (for its time). Freakish congregation of talent and next level tactics.

This is where Pep has over gambled in past and crumbled bit. He cant help going gung ho when behind when doesnt need to take risks really.

Barca 08-11 were as good as any team in the world on the break and won a lot of CL games and big games due to it. They just wouldnt set up to purposely sit deep and draw teams on to it but if chance arose they broke with pace better than anyone.
