The last time we faced them was when?

First Treble Season.

08/09 Last 16

1-1 in France (Henry)

5-2 in Spain (2 goals by Henry, one Messi, one Eto'o and one from Keita)

Edit: Many of you seem to be new to Barcelona or you simply do not remember our CL games very well. I was amazed for example that nobody seemed to mention the fact that this season we faced Inter for the first time since the fateful CL semis of 09/10. Or that it was the first time we faced Spurs in a competitive game.

Or perhaps you've not read through all the posts on this forum. There's like thousands of them.

Juve vs Atleti = 50-50

Bayern vs Pool = 45-55

Real Madrid vs Ajax = 75-25

PSG vs Utd = 85-15

City vs Schalke = 95-5

Barca vs Lyon = 90-10

Hopefully Roma make it through and we draw them in the quarters.

90-10 is too complacent of us to say. I'd say 60-40. Remember it is Valverde at the helm.

Good opponents for Barca.

Could have been a lot worse.

Lyon showed their quality against City, but it's a clear Barca win this tie, IMO.

Still buzzing with the draw... obviously anything can happen but ON PAPER we should be in the quarter finals.. and on top of that at least 2 big teams are going out from Atleti/Juve/Bayern/Liverpool. Madrid are also a lot weaker this season and there’s no stand out team really. Big opportunity for us this season!

Our CL away game record is absolutely terrible in recent years. Let's hope we won't be thrashed by their physical beasts.

the funny thing is that Lyon only won just one game in their group stage which was the first match vs Man City. They drew Shakhtar and Hoffenheim twice and drew Man city so 1W and 5D. The draw could have been a lot harder, but the players shouldn't be complacent after what happened in Rome. That is the only positive that I could get from that Roma disaster.

I think they will.

The main problem for Madrid is not so much the absence of Ronaldo (even though that's also a factor contributing to their weakening this season) but the overall decline in all their key players (mainly due to age)

All of Modric, Benzema, Marcelo, Ramos and Bale are a shadow of their former selves.

Still, they will eliminate Ajax.

These keyplayers have won against Paris 3-1 at home, away also 2-1 , destroyed Juve away 0-3, Bayern in their own stadium 2-1 and Liverpool in final 3-1.

But you could be right that Real will maybe win this tie but against a BIG team they will lose for sure without CR7.

ImO the reason why the offensive players are weaker than last season is that without Ronaldo who stick always 2-3 players they havent got much freedom to play. Look at Juve how many goals Manzukic is scoring, just because he has more freedom than ever.

Us, Madrid and City with very kind draws. We're lucky to get rid of one of Atletico/Juventus, teams that we have a bad match-up with. Just like last year, everybody will dream of drawing Roma in the QF.

The German-British battles are the main focus of the draw imo.

PSG with finally some breathing space after drawing Barca and Madrid back to back in Last 16, but United could cause them issues as they have nothing to lose.

Too bad our game is at the same time with Liverpool - Bayern.
