I always saw Suarez as a proficient striker but needs people to get him service to operate. He excelled at Barca purely because Messi and to an extent Neymar allowed him many opportunities

Fully agree consistency is nowhere to be seen. At time it looks like contact = Pen , then you have instances like these. Hard to gauge what the rules exactly are these days especially when the argument "The ref didn't see it" doesn't apply anymore.

Suarez's 2013-14 season is overrated. 22/31 goals were against bottom 10 Premier League teams and Sturridge contibuted more points for Liverpool than Suarez did. There's a legitimate case on how Benzema carry-job in 2018-19 season is more impressive than Suarez's 2013-14 campaign.

Btw this tie goes to show the importance of managers. If Lampard was still managing Chelsea, Atletico would have shit housed them in both legs. Tuchel has them playing defence which is Ateltico's worse nightmare since they have 0 creativity in attack.

Some lads in here were claiming beginning of season we sold the wrong declining forward.

At least a declined Messi is still good enough at the CL level.
