If I take into account the "what was gonna be the consequences of this win" I might choose non tbh
Had we won that game against Espanyol (or better .the 3-3 tie against RM) Rijkaard would have had 3 in a row leagues .noway we would have fired him 1 year after 3 consecutive league .at that time I wanted him to stay but if he stayed then there is no Pep
Same with last year ,highly doubt we would have fired Tata ,and even if we did the management wouldn't have felt the sense of urgency that forced them to break the bank for new deals
Had we beaten Inter in 2010 ,would Ibra have been sold?Would Villa have been brought? it is possible but I am not sure
May be the only one that I would say it didn't end for the best was 2012 tie against Chelsea .we could have beaten Bayern and Pep was still gonna leave and Tito was still gonna take over so there might not have been a butterfly effect on this one

Those games were SEMIfinals. SEMI being the key word. The most important game out of all listed is the Atletico game on Camp Nou. Only one with a big title on the table.

Wait, what exactly is your point? That just because they are semifinals, they are not as important? Bayern in 09/10 was extremely weak. It would have been a major upset for us to lose to Bayern in that final.

Barca during that 09/10 season had a magic aura about them because we had just won the sextuple, so everyone was expecting us to run riot in Europe again. Also we managed to convincingly beat Inter in the group stages.

That Chelsea game was probably the most undeserved outcome I've witnessed. Inter were lucky too but at least played and defended well while Chelsea were 100% fortunate.

How come we always faced a Mourinho (or ex) team in the semis during the Guardiola era? Chelsea 09, Inter 10, Real 11 and again Chelsea 12, while the likes of Man Utd or Bayern have faced teams such as Arsenal, Lyon or Schalke during the same timespan. Uefalona and Unicef I guess...

Semi final against Chelsea in 2012. That hurt me and pissed me off more then the Inter loss in 2010.

Inter 2010. I wanted to punch the TV when I saw him disrespect us like that by running on to the pitch. Funny how he moans about the refs now when that unbelievable disallowed goal against Bojan. That's why that one tops it all for me, we got robbed at a chance of glory that we and most importantly, Pep deserved. Not to mention their offside goals in the first leg.

Chelsea 2012, we simply should have been more ruthless in front of goal, in both legs. I mean Messi puts the PK away, we probably go through. We had it in our hands and we threw it away. I give di Matteo more credit for his defensive tactics than Mou's Inter, who were a lot more dirty imo. Plus Ramieres' goal was class.

I'd say Chelsea 2012 was their vengeance for the miracle at the Bridge in 2009. We were lucky not to give away a handball PK but they couldn't score against us on the run of play with a man advantage.

Honorable mention for me was the 2014 World Cup final, really wanted to see Messi win it and prove without doubt that he's the best of all time.

6 Ballons for Messi

but what if he wins 7??

Can we drop this please? Only haters don't admit messi's status.
If messi had chosen to play for spain they would have said "yeah, he only excels with barca and spain, the team makes him great".
If the 2 retards, higuain and palacio hadn't missed the easy 1v1's in the WC final the haters would say "yeah so what, with that stacked team of aguero, di maria, higuain, masc that's not an achievement".
Messi is the GOAT, world cup or not.

I'm sorry, I disagree. Discussions like this are very subjective and debatable but in my book, I can't feel confident calling him the GOAT until he has a World Cup. I don't understand at all how that makes me a hater. I adore Messi but I feel it's dismissive of the other greats that have come before him who have achieved success at both club and international level. di Stefano put up the same kind of numbers and had the same club success as Messi, yet he is rarely mentioned above Pele and Maradona. Another case being the Brazilian Ronaldo, I'd argue that had he stayed healthier throughout his career, he would have been considered the GOAT and Messi currently would be compared with him more than Cristiano and/or Pele and Maradona.

For me, if Messi wins a World Cup, it erases any doubt that he is the greatest of all time but without it, it still remains debatable of whether or not he is better than Maradona and Pele. I feel safe saying he's the best club player of all time because he has played in a much more competitive environment than di Stefano and has had virtually the same success. I'm just saying it's still debatable for Messi without a World Cup, that's all.

No hate whatsoever.

This wc argument makes little sense to evaluate a player's ability to me. Messi was unlucky to have an arg side with Higuain and palacio bottling chances, when Maradona had the fortune of his teammates converting their chances. It is a team sport, after all.

And if a better player than Messi appears in the future, and he's from a country without a good nt, he'll also be dismissed because of that, and be called "best club player"? Not fair, imo.
The best will always play for the best clubs and trophies will come, but nt's tournaments are different. Messi managing to take his arg side to 2 major finals is also a great acomplishment, looking at all variables.

The two serious contenders here are of course the two lost Champions League semi-finals.

The loss to Chelsea in 2012 was painful and ludicrous in equal measure. An atrocious team managed to take advantage of our relative dip in form, our missed sitters and some catastrophic defending to eliminate us from the CL semis. The additional horror was that the Chelsea fans still get to brag that we have some kind of fear of their team, which truth be told has been less than average in the CL in recent years, despite the accidental 2012 victory. Ours having to play 3 tough games within six-days was also a factor.

But the 2010 elimination at the hands of Inter and Jose easily takes the cake as the worst moment in FCB hisotry. After our epic season and astonishing treble of 08/09, the moon and the stars were perfectly aligned for us to repeat both in Europe and domestically. In the GS, we made Inter look like a mid-table Liga side, and that was without Leo or the disappointing Ibra. We dismantled Arsenal in the quarters and were hot-on favorites to win the European Trophy in the Bernabeu. Had we gone through Inter, then the Bayern of 2010 would have virtually no chance against us. Iniesta and Abidal would have been ready for the CL final in Madrid (they did not play in the semis) Additionally, the stupid bus ride to Milan did us in. Without the bus ride (due to the Icelandic volcano) no ref and no Jose would have prevented us from getting a far better result than the 3-1 defeat we ultimately got and the period between 09 and 11 would have seen absolute Barca dominance of the Champions League.

As bad as the loss to Chelsea in 2012 was, I would not have placed too many bets on us beating the 2012 Bayern on their own patch, mind you, we would never get the luck that Chelsea had in that final. But 2010 was a slam dunk for us to win it. In Madrid.

2010 semifinals versus Inter, Jose shitting on our lawn (which also allowed him to return to prominence, without that CL victory, Jose's legend would have collapsed long ago) us missing the chance to not only make it back-to-back, but three in a fucking row.

That semi-final tie has been far and away the preeminent calamity in FC Barcelona history. No contest.
