S'what they do on the other forum I go on. Close the match topic at kick off, open it up at full time.

Though they use an IRC Chatroom rather than a Vbulletin inbuilt one. Though they have imbedded it into the site.

Mibbit i think it is called, maybe you could try adding a link to that in all match topics if you can't get the other one to work?

We have one of them working. We just tried to see another one and thats where it went wrong. If worst comes to worst we'll use the original one.

I think with IRC the users are more suseptible to viruses.

I voted yes, but only in the capacity that we have chat during broadcasts of the games. We should still have threads, too. How would that work?

Well there will be a character limit for each 'shout' (maybe 300 characters which is about 60 words), so if u want to go into detail you have to use the topic which will constantly be open. But as u said, it will only be open for the 90 mins of the game (and extra time) so any pre-match buildup and post-match analysis will be done in the match topic. After the game the transcript of the chat will be posted in the match topic.

I think it was ok. There was a small delay (few seconds) and there is the default color problem but overall it went good.
We could still try that other version to see how it will look. If it doesn`t work/people don`t like it: we`ll always have this one to go back to.

i only have little problem with colours...i can't read something because text colour is almost the same as background...

Yeah we noticed that problem when we were testing it. We're looking into a few different chat modules so we'll see how it goes.
