[MENTION=1707]antonnn[/MENTION] seems to have gone missing sometime during Chelsea's hilariously pathetic 15/16 season, so can someone else enlighten me on what is going on with the lack of Chelsea signings this summer? Granted, the market has barely opened, but considering their state, one would think they'd need a serious overhaul (especially so in defense). AFAIK they have only managed to tie down Batshuayi so far, and he doesn't really look like much of a game changer tbh.

Italians tend not to do so well in England, Zola being a notable exception though I suppose.

Aside from Verratti and the ones at Juve, are there really that many Italians who'd strengthen Chelsea significantly, though?

Last season was a disaster, Mou really fucked up.
Conte is doing and saying all the right things right now, he seems to have more balls than Mou when it comes to talking to the board, according to what I've read, so it remains to be seen how they handle him being a hard ass. Kante and Batshuayi look to be good signings, though we'll see how the latter performs once the season begins, and we're searching for a new CB as well as another striker. I dunno, we just payed quite a bit for Batshu but we're being linked with really big bids for Morata/Cavani/Lukaku. I dunno, after paying as much as we have for Batshu I don't know if it's worth buying another big name striker. In terms of CBs, we're being linked with Lindelof from Benfica since Napoli are pricing us out of getting Koulibaly due to competition for his signature.
Conte reckons he needs 4-5 more guys even after the 2 we bought, there's been a lot of links but the seemingly most concrete ones are those I've named so far.
I'm very interested to see how our 4-4-2/4-2-4 formation will go in the EPL, especially after we've played with 1 striker in a 4-3-3/4-2-3-1 formation for 12 years now.
