He should be priority. I don't care who you sell from our crap but get it done. Griezmann and Eriksen and we would be the best team in the world again.
Where did you hear this?

I really don't understand why should he be a priority? As I stated 10x already he is not a pure CM he is more AM and we much more need a pure CM player who can control the game. I am not saying we should not buy Eriksen because he is not good enough but IMHO a controlling CM player is much more needed here. We can't just buy "big" names all of the time we need to start buying players for positions that we really need and AM is definitely not a priority right now.
Imagine this formation:
Demebele-Busi-Eriksen-Coutinho
------Griezmann-Messi----------
or
---------Busi--Eriksen----------
Dembele---Messi----Coutinho
-----------Griezmann----------
or
----------Busi-------------
---Eriksen----Coutinho--
Griezmann--Messi--Dembele
We would get DESTROYED in defense against stronger opponents! There is no way in hell this would function!
He has asked his entourage to see if there is any interest from Barca to sign him.
Please Please don't let this opportunity slip. Please sign this guy. Our midfield will be sorted for years if we get him. 🙏
I've not always been his greatest fan but he's twice as effective as Rakitic
Eriksen is a good player. But he isn’t a special player, and wouldn’t be anywhere near worth the outlay it would take to get him.
He’s good on set pieces and competent in his all round play, but he’s an AM, not a CM, and it’s a CM the team needs.
He also doesn’t suit the 4-4-2 system, and if the club did revert to a 4-3-3, having him and Coutinho would be overkill. Eriksen is more likely to give you 7/10 performances, but Coutinho is capable of producing magic.
I still think he is being judged to harshly as well. Coutinho will never be at his most effective playing wide, either in a 4-3-3 or 4-4-2; he doesn’t have the pace. Managers were guilty of doing the same to Iniesta in his early years as well, and whilst he ‘performed’, he was at his best playing centrally in a 4-3-3. I genuinely believe Coutinho is as well. He will need to work on ball retention (something that can be easily coached), but he is absolutely crucial to adding creativity to a currently very workman and sterile midfield. If he plays in midfield, he will need someone who can assist Busquets defensively as well as be comfortable on the ball, and ideally have a bit of pace/strength.
Players of this ilk are obviously thin on the ground, but Eriksen certainly doesn’t fit the bill. Arthur might be one.
In terms of potentially available players; N’Dombele, Paredes, Tielemans, Rubén Neves, Kondogbia, Thiago, could the type of profile who might bring balance to midfield.
Despite being erratic, I think Pogba would be excellent here too. IF coached properly.
Eriksen absolutely bossed the very same midfield he plays in, when he played CM!, yes CM, not AM, when Spurs were playing United this season. So i call your whole post about Eriksen not being able to play CM bull, frankly. And then to add players like Tielemans and Kondogbia would be better for us than Eriksen, who is proven on a club and international stage and is one of the best midfielders out there, even though he's not half as hyped as all the more flashy types like Pogba...wow. So yes, Eriksen is very much a special player, even though he may not be presenting himself as such, which is only a plus in my book.
Eriksen is exactly the type of player we need, a multi-dimensional midfielder, able to play AM (which would still come in handy when Coutinho would play wide), but also a hard worker, a team player, he's also someone who maybe wouldn't stand out as the most flashy player in our star team (while he is a star in Tottenham, even though he's a very cool and collected player, controlling the flow of play with his passing and movement). He's also psychically very capable, and good in the air when necessary, since he's not exactly a midget, which makes him good at defending too. And thus certainly more than capable of playing CM as well. He would be a much needed upgrade and a perfect replacement for Rakitic, since he's just as good defensively, but has much better technique and passing, not to mention his set piece prowess, that's crossing from free kicks and corners, and shooting free kicks. Imagine him and Coutinho being on free kick duty, we would be just as dangerous from free kicks as we are now, even after Messi leaves.
