Christian Eriksen

Well Eriksen has apparently asked said he’s ready for a new challenge..

Quote
Christian Eriksen has revealed his desire to take on a fresh challenge after six years at Tottenham Hotspur. The 27-year-old told Danish media outlet Ekstra Bladet he would "like to try something new" following Tottenham's Champions League final loss on Saturday against Liverpool.

That's what I meant by timing. Journalists coming out with their scoop right after Eriksen went on record about his desire to leave. Normal stuff. 95% of it is bollocks.

a????? Wrong.

So because they sign 6 players they automatically will be better than us? This isn’t fifa and not how real life works

Because they will have a functional midfield, with great depth, and a manager that emphasizes interplay.

While we will have valverde and rakitic--busquets---vidal

Real Madrid will have a wealth of attacking options for sure: Hazard, Jovic, Rodrygo, Vinicius, Benzema, Diaz, Mariano....

It would be great to have a more attacking CM on the right side because of Messi (playing everywhere but RW) and De Jong on the left, but knowing Valverde, he would play Eriksen on the left and Frenkie on the right.

:valverde:

I think you spelled Vidal and Rakitic wrong :valverde2:

Overrated imo

I think you missed the thread. Coutinho is not in the 'other players' section (yet). ;)

Always wished we would've gone for this guy instead of Coutinho even way back then...his whole game, actually suited for midfield, not something in between midfield and attack, and grounded attitude and Ajax history would've suited us so much more than another overrated Brazilian, who turns out that on top of all that also has one of the weakest mentalities I've ever seen in a player. Now down the line it's proving just how damn right I was.

It's gonna hurt a lot if he ends up in Madrid.

I think he is good but not great. He was manhandled about as much against Liverpool as our midfielders were. Where we are average to below (lack of explosiveness, physicality and ball winning quickness in midfield) is one area he is mediocre, where he is very good to great (free kicks and interlinking with other players) we are already strong. Does not seem like the kind of value added that for instance that FDJ seems sure to bring.

I don't see him that big for Real either. Not like his traits surpass Modric or Kroos.

I think he would make far more of a difference for someone like PSG or maybe Juv who are missing elements he can bring. Or United too.

There's one massive problem though - none of them are world class - not even Hazard who would be closest. And an even bigger problem - none of them has the potential to be world class - bar Rodrygo who looks an interesting talent.

I disagree, Hazard and Benzema are already world class; Vinicius looks very promising and just needs to improve his finishing; Jovic we will see if he will continue his prolific scoring at Real Madrid and Rodrygo I simply don't know enough but heard he is a very good talent.

The point is, Real Madrid has many options while we have very limited options and in a couple of years when Suarez and Messi are gone what will be there left for us? Who? Even Dembele is not safe. A 30-year-old Griezmann and a 29-year-old Neymar?

Well don't they want something like 100 mil for him? No surprise then  He is a good player but not Hazard like good, and even for him that price with just 1 year left was questionable.

If he stays and doesn't renew he could be a steal for whatever club signs him next summer though.
