Funny how the narrative changed between the 2 red cards last season, in the Monaco game, many people blamed our loss on the red card and today since we won everybody is saying this is how you do it and Xavi was the reason we went out to PSG last year.

But what you guys don’t realise, with experience, you get better.. Last season Lamine was in his first full season and Cubarsi was in his first season as well and Pedri was injury prone. Don’t you think due to the experience of last year, the team was able to get through this red card, also from the red card of the Monaco game, the team experienced these situations twice and finally found a solution. Adversity builds a man and when you get a lot of adversity, you are bound to learn from it.

We didn't lose this game because tell stood on his head and their is world of difference between Mbappe, dembele, barcola and benfica.

See the PSG vs Liverpool game for reference.
That game also shows the importance of a top top keeper.

Raph clutched up, he did that last season as well though everyone seems to have forgotten.

But let's just enjoy the big win.

I would put that blame on Xavi's physio team. This was one of the reasons for Deco not backing Xavi, because he wanted to keep his staff, while Deco brought in experts and the result is, that they've developed an individual physical plan for Pedri, that seems to be working now.
Xavi liked to work with his brother and friends, but Barca isn't some weekend club where you meet your friends.

Aerial duels 4/11

yeah, he sure did well

Would prefer to keep on Olmo as a false 9 to help out defensively and keep some pressure off the midfield and defense.
Look, I'm not a big fan of the current version of Lewandowski, but your criticism of Flick's decision and criticism of Lewandowski is completely misplaced.

He won 6 out of 12 aerial duels after Сubarsi got red card. Those are great numbers for a striker of his format.

Nah the ones he 'won' largely went nowhere anyway.

Not all his fault as not a lot of players round him but there was barely a relevanr aerial battle won but it at least allowed for some kind out outball under pressure.

2 out of 6 are opponent fouls. So we got the ball 100%.

Other episodes - I can send you the time stamps - and you can see if there was a return of possession.

Also, in the episodes where he lost the duel, we could have gotten the ball too.

So you are counting fouls as winning headers?

Send them on.

He wasnt holding up ball well or doing much in air.. but thats not his fault really it was a tough ask for anyone to do that with as little support as had at times.

What?

If Lewandowski engaged in an aerial duel and the referee picks up a foul by the opponent, it's an aerial duel won. What don't you like?
