People whining about Cancelo lol, ok he had 2-3 very bad shots at goal which he good have done better with - but he was actually more than alright for his standards in defense. Overall I have nothing to bitch about, we did great - some of you peeps should lower your expatiation, PSG was favorites and we beat the 2-3. I'm more than happy, for ever ever.-.

I think we were close to collapsing but PSG was absolutely a mess in defense. For me Xavi made some huge errors and some great moves. That's his issues. He is not clueless but he isn't exceptional in reading players.
He has no excuse for subbing FDJ when he had the option to help him, he had the only player that absolutely canceled Bilbao's fast players but he plays Cancelo.
BUT he was better than EV. EV had Malcom and he played with no fast players in attack.
Xavi at least used a fast player against a team that will open up and this is a difference between a morron and a decent manager.
Xavi needs credit for this.

Huge win.

We are going to have to step up in the second leg because PSG need to score and had about 200 passes more than us.

We put up PL stats distance covered wise (high 117kmh) which I think the 10 days off helped immensely with.

PSG have the weekend off and there going to need it.

Up to Xavi to rotate well against Cadiz. Full 90s for Christensen and Roberto is mandatory.

Nothing much more to say, Xavi setup perfectly today, and made the subs at the right moments. Only thing was we come out of half time expecting to continue with the first halves tempo and suffered.

But can't nitpick. Huge wins and kudos to all for the immense effort. Don't slip up in 6 days!

I still stand by what I've said - our attack is not good enough.

We got lucky with Donnaruma fucking up and their defense sleeping.

But we did well enough in defense and most of the time in midfield. So all in all a good game, but wouldn't praise Xavi for this one.

The issue with playing a team that has the best wingers is that more than alright isn't enough. Now if PSG wasn't a mess in defense and midfield those small errors in defense by Cancelo would have been enough for us to get another bitter defeat.
I don't think Fort is inferior in any aspect of the game and his defending was flawless. So if we risked with Cubarsi I don't think Fort would have been a greater risk.
Now if we get past PSG, Cancelo is good enough for Atletico, but against the wingers of Real not.
Cancelo is useful against park the buss teams not absolute monsters on the wings. Pep isn't some noob to give us exceptional players.

HUGE WIN!

1) We owed them this. in 2021 we battered them in the same stadium, and instead of 1-5, we came back with 1-1.

2) We should stay humble, and Xavi especially should abstain from big words. We need to be much better in the return, as I am sure PSG will be much better.

3) OK, I am not gonna say that all my criticism of Raphina was not correct, but from tonight it is clear that he is getting misused. He was never a winger. He needs to play in central forward areas, and attack the spaces

4) Think our defense was not as good as people say. In the 2nd half, they were making chances with some simple balls over the top for an onrushing quick winger. Our defenders were slow to follow. We need to do a lot better in the return leg on that front

5) I think our game management the last 15 minutes after the 2-3 was kind of awful. we were hasty in possession, and not clinical enough. They were so open at the back, and there for the taking. We might regret not winning this with 2,3 goal margin

6) Pedri is a difference maker, simple as that... First touches a WC ball over the top for an 1v1 chance.
Raphina, Pedri, Kounde, Araujo, Gundo were great tonight
Lewa was so and so, but improved from his usual self. Yamal and Cancelo were bad

7) Seriously THO, Enrique might be an undercover Barca agent. Saw the post match interview and he looked so happy

Gotta say. Huge win.

Not only to win away at PSG, but also to make a comeback after going 2-1 down. Should do good for the team's mentality.

Gotta smash these fools next week. They will come out all attack so we should be able to overrun them in midfield.

Quiet night for Mbappe, eh?

He isn't anywhere near this magical key to UCL as some think he is.

He may be clutch for France, but that's irrelevant for club football.

For me, except Cancelo, our defense did great. You can't totally stop Mbappe and Dembele on the same side, that's why is important to at least dominate the other side where Barcola was just scary.
Who thinks Kounde or Aruajo can stop those type of wingers 1 v 1 is very very naive. Barca needs to suffocate them not beat them.

This was on Xavi because he needed to shift focus in midfield and get a midfielder that would hinder Dembele and get someone more better than Cancelo to at least make Barcola less direct on Cubarsi.
If you can't dominate at least one flank you are in huge troubles in football.
In the end PSG were just too dumb to keep a functional defense and that took the pressure off our back line, full backs.
But we should be very very careful, luck has it's limitations.

Was always gonna get pocketed by Araujo anyway.
The questionmark was on the other flank, and thankfully Ousmane proved to be real cule
