Yes it was a clear penalty but we still deserved to be eliminated. This really looks exactly like that season with Tata where we limped in the end. Still, atletico players better not bitch about not getting any friendly ref decisions.

Very disappointed, not only because barca is out, but because we still have same problems we had since smart coaches learned our weaknesses. Both Madrid teams play style is kryptonite for barca.

Only defender I see really giving it all, is Mascherano. I really miss those days Abidal was our lb and Pyoul our cb. I never liked alves, but boy I dislike Alba even more. We basically are playing without anyone defending our lb and rb.

But yeah our attack was awful and so was our midfield. For a team that contains Messi, Neymar and Suarez we really are doing bad offensively, and they picked worst games to take a vacation from scoring or even playing.

Very sad and very disappointed as barca supporter, but can't feel any hatred towards AM. They played for the win and as an underdog. They prevailed, always a beautiful story, unfortunately it happened against Barca.

Pique's comment sums it up:

Pique: "It's of course a big blow, we didn't expect it. We have to get up now, like this club has done many times before."

They went into this match thinking they had already advanced. It's pathetic mentality and we well and truly deserved to go out because of it.

If anything, thank fucking God that we don't have to travel to Japan for that useless tournament next season. It all went downhill from then. The cursed badge probably didn't help either.

So are you saying that if we went in expecting to lose, we would have won???

I'm saying that if we felt the urgency that we were playing one of the best teams in all of Europe, in their incredibly atmospheric stadium, with only a minor advantage in the first leg, that maybe we wouldn't have spent the majority of that first half passing the ball laterally in our half and making zero attempt to go forward and create something.

What weaknesses? No one has been doing anything different against us.

This obsession people have on this forum with saying 'we've been found out!' is one of the things I hate most about our defeats/poor performances.

We have one team to blame for our losses over the last few weeks, and it's our own team. They haven't being playing at the same level as they were at the start of the season.

So are you saying that if we went in expecting to lose, we would have won???

I think the point he is trying to make is that the players should be focused on producing the best possible performance in every match, not focussing on whether or not they expect to win/lose.

Only have ourselves to blame. It was clear last year that fitness reigned supreme come the end of the season, and this year we totally neglected that, not to mention we had a HUGE lead in La Liga at one point. I knew not getting a forward in January would kill us. The front 3 have come back from international in awful condition.

We really need to fill out the squad this summer, because the squad depth at the moment is woeful. Atleti and Real eclipse us in that.

We also played more games this year then last. We didn't have the squad depth to compete, with so many more games this season. We burned out, just like Madrid did last season, it happens. Thats poor planning by Barto and Robert, imo. Lucho wanted Nolito the club said no.

Lucho should have asked for Nolito in the summer then before other signings were made.

The front three bitch and moan every time they are dropped or subbed. Nolito would barely have played.

Loads of meaningless minutes this season in games won or second legs that could have gone to Munir, Sandro etc just to rest front three and Lucho never did it.

Either he was too scared to rest big three or making a point about wanting Nolito. Either way it shows a weakness from him.

I agree with your post, but at least he identified he needed another forward and he didn't want Pedro to leave either, which came as surprise to him, I think.
