Well for someone who likes to quote the Bible much, you should learn how the book came about, who were the first Christians, what is Protestant reformation, etc.
These things are real whether you ignore them or not. It won't change the core of your faith, but rather complement it.
Personally I love Protestant rhetoric and approach to the scripture, i.e. William Lane Craig is a wonderful Protestant philosopher and apologist, but I also love Scott Hahn's work and how he complements things that are missing or maybe not very understood in Protestantism. Not sure what is so scary in questioning your faith. I do that all the time.
