Bayern coach Julian Nagelsmann has confirmed that Goretzka, Kimmich and Gnabry won't play against Barcelona tomorrow. Hern?ndez isn't expected to start either.

Sabitzer and Choupo-Moting are also ruled out.

These players haven't played in the last several games anyways (Gnabry came on as a sub in a few games I think) due to injuries and COVID.

That's some very important players Bayern are missing. In reality there is still not much reason for us to be optimistic. Barca still lacks firepower to even a score a goal and Bayern can still field a competitive team good enough to embarrass us. Not gonna say they will.

Lewa and Muller are players who always do well against Barca. Both of them will be extra motivated. Bayern managed to win in Dortmund last weekend without having Goretzka or Gnabry for the full 90 minutes.

Given how the season evolved, a 1-1 or another draw can already be considered a success. It won't be enough to advance to the round of 16, but I don't see Barca winning there without Ansu, even under these circumstances.

Bayern probably will play like this:

Neuer
Pavard - Upamecano - Hernandez - Davies (S?le could play instead of Pavard or Upamecano)
Tolisso - Musiala
Coman - M?ller - Sane
Lewandowski

Nagelsmann already told (after a portuguese reporter told about concerns of Benfica) that he will play the best available team.

If Xavi is going three at the back, expect Pique and Garcia owned a lot. They will pull Araujo out from the defense and have their attackers 1vs1 against Pique or Garcia. Same as Atletico did to us.

You can't have two players with zero skills to deal with one vs one, when you are playing three at the back.

Hernandez almost certainly won't start.

I doubt BM will give Barca any slack. Muller trashtalked about BdO and proof that BM and Lewa are the best, gaining respect etc... Starting with next UCL match = Barca.

So I expect they go full force. No slack at all.

Should just switch to watching the benfca game when we concede. Then give up completely if benfica take the lead.

Kiev was actually pretty decent vs Bayern and they drew the first game vs Benfica. Don't expect them to score many goals though. They struggle just like Barca scoring.

I think you are spot on btw.

Line-up picks itself unless Alba is injured. Then it's really about choosing between a couple of bad options (Balde, 3ATB)...

Gavi - Depay - Dembele
Frenkie - Busquets - Nico
Alba - Pique - Araujo - Dest
MAtS

Could be worse, it's probably our best looking line-up on paper this season. Maybe Garcia and Mingueza have some chances to start as well. Personally I have a feeling that Benfica screws up though, or I baldy want them to, so the match hopefully doesn't matter :p CL knockouts would be nice. Playing United is my absolute dream this season.
