Hahaha remember all the people trying to excuse away Valverde ignoring the B team, and Alena specifically, by saying "He'll play against Sporting, he'll get plenty of La Liga callups, etc."?

Even fucking Tata Martino was better with B team players and didn't he only have like 300 minutes combined or something hilariously low to all B team players combined across all competitions? So much for Valverde valuing youth development, they can't even make the bench in dead rubbers.

Again this seems like he's under pressure to play even the fringe players over the B players in games like this. Nothing wrong with adding the likes of Alena, Oriol etc to games like this since everything is locked up but seriously.

Mind-boggling. I said few times that Valverde cares nothing about developing players but this is just beyond stupid. He could have at least called up Alena and one more. If for nothing then to rest first team players and avoid cards or whatnot.
