Guys, please watch those GIFs I posted 2-3 pages behind. Are they penalties or what? I'm in an argument with several posters from redcafe who call both situations dives from Neymar and Messi. Seriously now, no bias, no anything.

To me they are penalties and I'd say that even if it was Ronaldo instead of Neymar and Modric instead of Messi. What do you think?

The first one is a foul but he is outside of the box imo, the second one is a pen no doubt.

That's what I thought at first too. So I went to check the rules on 'holding an opponent', from FIFA.com, on 'fouls and misconduct', and they say that if the holding starts outside the box and continues inside, a penalty should be given. I agree it's close, but when Verratti let's go of Messi, I think it's in the box, or at most on the line.

Word 'Barcelona' hit a new record of searches on Google after Barca's win v PSG. It hadn't drawn so much interest since 2004 [google trends]

Great day for FC Barcelona all around. As I said earlier, Barca won a lot of new fans on Wednesday. And it's really these kind of emotional episodes that make lasting impression.

So what do you need us for? Seems like you are able to hold out against them well on your own.

I re-watched and saw something that you can use: prior to the second pen Suarez touched Marqui in his surface and ref gave him a foul. I don't remember when exactly but it was after between the 4th goal and the second pen. Then Marqui did the exact same to Suarez and we know how it ended.

Edit: it was between 71th and 72th min.

Thanks, but I gave up on the discussion. There is no way those are dives for me. Those are what I would call clear fouls. So there is really no common ground to be reached for those two plays.

That's the best thing to do. Usually, if the guy i debate with is just a close-minded moron, i just say "Yes we paid the refs, deal with it" to piss him off. Very childish but i like it.

From /r/Barca thread

With the emotions of the game running high, we are sad to have found out that long time subscriber /u/CorsarioNero has passed away last night.

Lucas Resende, who was a friend of him announced this last night after the game

CorsarioNero was a Chilean 34 year old culé, who has been discussing Barça with us for nearly four years.

Apparently the emotions of the match last night were running so high, that they caused/contributed to a heart attack.

We remember CorsarioNero as an individual with a strong opinion never afraid to share it, especially about the board and a type of person you do need in a subreddit like this.

Our thoughts are with his friends and family.

Descanse En Paz /u/CorsarioNero. You will be missed.

Rest in peace!
