I haven't heard that before. And if he did, then he is wrong because in the replay you can clearly see there is no contact. Di Maria just kicks it wide.
Unless he touches Di Maria's left foot slightly when he swings back, but I don't see it in the replay. Either way, I couldn't care less to be honest.
Don't see any contact either. Keep in mind they're on the same NT. Maybe Masch felt bad for Di M and didn't want him to lose face even more.

I think he clips the underneath of his trailing foot, but a split second after Di Maria has already scuffed his shot.. I think that's why the ref and linesman didn't see it. But i'm with you.... I don't care lol.
