Claudio Bravo

I judged him from his games with Barça B.
And I suspect it's the same for Fontas, he has really good distribution and that was his single quality.

Fontàs barely played for Barcelona either. I don't think you can claim Barça play certain players solely on their passing ability. That's just not true. Of course it's an aspect of the game that's necessary to become successful at Barça but it's not ranked as #1.

When you see the weeds-smoker speed and reflexes of Fontas, one would legitimately ask whether or not that the passing was the first criterion. I mean, in the first match of him that you watch you can see he doesn't have the minimum predispositions on which the coach can make him progress, so maybe the staff thought "He has the passing ability, that's the real deal, we can improve the rest" and they offered him a 5 years contract, even if it was obvious that he will never become a high level player.
For Bravo I really think he is not better in pure goal keeping than some accessible GK like Willy, Navas or Yoel, the passing criterion seems to be the first once again

Fontàs was a great defender for Barça B and made 35 appearances in La Liga this season. I think it's safe to say he's more than just someone who knows how to pass.

I don't know about the goalkeepers. There are definitely better keepers than Bravo around but saying we are signing him just because he's good with his feet is a bit short sighted. We don't know that.

Maybe jds refusal in joining Sociedad will make zubi not pay all the money they're trying to get. That would be great, as zubi would have to go for caballero.

:jds: You're welcome.

Barcelona have called Real Sociedad keeper Claudio Bravo to tell him they will sign him even if Dos Santos refuses to be part of a deal [md]

Poor jds effort in vain. He better go, then. Or bravo will be too expensive.

Going by our desperation to sign Bravo at whatever cost, don't be surprised if he starts the season in goal. When you're the technical team's choice, you tend to get favoured over others.

Navas & Willy would demand #1 role and MATS has been signed for this job.

Neither Navas nor Willy are in a position to demand anything from our club... Navas had one wonderful season but he's not a household name yet, his reputation in on par with Ter Stegen, and Willy is a veteran in the last years of his career who would be looking for one last shot at winning big trophies...

Also, Ter Stegen is not guaranteed #1 if another keeper is signed...

That's my fear.
