Completely agree, he was very solid before Liverpool. I recall several games where he was nearly perfect in defense. Good positioning, excellent tackles, and composed under pressure. EV's tactics probably helped him since there was so much focus on defending with numbers and positioning. After Liverpool, he has been in freefall.

Bit reactionary takes. Most goals conceded have come from individual mistakes which isn't necessarily to do with the coaching. We also have injuries, which means new players and unestablished partnerships.

don't know why people would like to sell. he would be a good option as backup. problem(like in other areas of our squad) is that he is starter. lack of competition could be another factor of his recent downfall.

having prime umtiti(without injuries) and pique as starters + lenglet and araujo from the bench, wouldn't be that bad. but umtiti is a non-factor now, pique is old and injured.
