I know that. When play RMA and Atletico Madrid, the last one (ATL MADRID) lose the points, just to see REALMADRID in the first position. Whereas Espanyol play the best match in all season against Barcelona, that no needs to do that! And maybe that's why Espanyol is our enemie maybe?

Espanyol were seen as a club that complied to the Franco regime as opposed to Barcelona, as well as the fact that Espanyol was one of the many clubs granted royal patronage and was formed mainly by the Spanish, compared to Barcelona's more international approach. Sadly, many of the rivalries in Spanish football are very much political in nature (but I guess that interests some people), and Espanyol always having the game of their lives against us is due to the rivalry, not vice versa. If anything Atletico Madrid can be seen as more of an "ally" to us as we're both anti-madridistas, and Atletico Madrid is characterized by their revolutionary sentiment similar to Barcelona's. You could also make a case with Athletic Bilbao as the club was also used as a symbol and tool for independence of the respective regions, but I could go on forever...

Barcelona is my favorite team in soccer. I can't really think of any other team from different leagues that I enjoy watching. Although from Spain, I have a soft spot for Athletic Bilbao. They play with so much passion and pride it's difficult not to like them.

Is it okay to be a fan of Barcelona but also to want Athletic Bilbao to defeat other teams besides barca or is their some form of rivalry between these two clubs that i do not know? If so I'll start hating Bilbao lol.

Read above, there has been some defense of Bilbao in this thread already

The only teams I really follow are Barcelona, Milan, and Arsenal. I like certain teams in other leagues but I can't say I know much about them so I stick to these three.

Yeah I really only know a whole lot about Barcelona and Liverpool, so although I may toss in my attention and cheer for other teams from time to time, I can really only say I'm a supporter of those two.

Till you started talking about Atletico Madrid you were heading in the right direction , Atletico Madrid was Franco regime favorite team and it was the Airforce team .
their love for Franco is strong the only similarities with you is just the rivalry with Real but they are not anti-regime if anything they are pro-Franco than any other club in Spain .
there is no revolutionary sentiments or anything of that sort just a normal rivalry due to the city derby

They switched to Real after Atletico failed to make the required success , a case of a dictator promoting his regime in whatever ways necessary

It could have been any team at that time whatever was winning

Franco was not fond of Real Madrid, even though an arch-conservative he was not an elitist, and I think that is the reason that he initially empathised with the more working-class Atletico de Madrid. But his regime mainly based on the Spanish business and landowning elite there could no other final outcome than supporting Real in the end.

It is a historical fact that fascist/ultra-right-wing movements are not particularly elitist especially during the period of their ascendancy. It is only after being firmly established in power that they fall under the influence of the economic and social elite whose interests they have been unwittingly defending the whole time.It was a similar case with Mussolini's and Hitler's movement. They all begun as petty-bourgeoisie/upper-working class movements that slag it out against organised labour.Even though being suspiciously observed by the ruling class they were more than tolerated due to their opposition to organised labour/Socialists/Communists.Their rise to power was tolerated due to the untold fear that the property owning classes felt at the prospect of a Red takeover and subsequent drastic economic redistribution.Once into power(even though not elitist or capitalist sympathisers)they soon fall to the power of the traditional elites and more or less do their bidding(this was clearly the case with Franco and Mussolini, not so much with Hitler)
I think that this may possibly explain Franco's initial sympathy for Atletico Madrid as well as his gradual shift in favour of Real Madrid.

Hmm, did not know that...either way, I hate Atletico Madrid for being so useless against Real Madrid :p
I'm more than willing to support them in Europe though, especially against English teams...hope they demolish Fulham
