Yep because Messi plays in the middle and stays upfront...

But Messi doesn't stay up front, and he's useless as a true #9 because he won't make those runs and just walks. He drops to midfield ("false #9") leaving a hole up front. It's a tactical mistake. The best way to fix is to have a CF in front of him to occupy the centerbacks, as in the 2nd leg vs Milan. Still not as fluid and fun to watch as overlapping Spain offense, but at least makes the buses easier to penetrate.

I dont get it either,he drops to midfield and get the ball to who?Pass it to the isolated wingers and them passing it back to him?thats a point
