Opinions can differ? Is there a room for 'different opinions' on this forum?

Anyways do you agree with 'Italy deserved the final more than Spain' statement.

You're the one calling people deluded & I'm somehow the person who has a problem with differing opinions? I didn't mean to sound like I don't respect what you think but I just can't understand how anyone could think that was parking the bus.

Whatever though, personally I think both sides "deserved" to go through, but only one could. In regular time I think Italia were the better side, but they tired out (or let it affect them) more than Spain did in extra time. So depends on how you look at it there. Also, Bonucci could have made that pen & Navas could have missed. Italia would have fairly deserved to go through in that situation IMO. But what happened happened, Spain are obviously a great side, despite not being on top of their usual game.

What I don't like though is a lot of Spain/Barca fans that discredit what Italia were able to do - this isn't to you specifically but I've seen it a lot between this tournament, the U21s & the Euros last year. So I have a bit of a short fuse when it comes to that.

I didn't say that Spain didn't deserve the win, I just said that Italy deserved it more, the reason being, and I'd like to quote you on this: "Spain were being attacked from left, right and center in the first half". So how does that make me deluded?

Because that game lasted 120mins + penalties. Spain were mentally strong and came out on top from being thrashed in the first half it was exact opposite in later 2nd half and OT. Also, they have conceded only one goal in this tourney compared to il Azzuri  8 goals in 3 games or something. Anyways, It's your take on the game and i respect that sorry for sounding a bit rude.

And with all due respect, you can't predict the future, we don't know what would have happened had it been an Italy-Brazil final.

Brazil boasts a consistent record against Italy they ripped them a part even in this tourney. Brazil have proved their doubters wrong and came out strong being the hosts.

Well read my reply to Alissa. It's not like i hate Italia or something i do respect them as they are the only ones competing with this mighty Spanish side since last 5 years or so but only this 'they deserved it more to go through' statement was a bit over the top imo.

Italy were the better side in the first half. Spain deserves the credit to absorb the pressure and turning it around that shows why they are called 'The best in the business'.

They are my 2nd favs in NT level and i do defend Italy when people come up with 'Only Germans can dethrone this mighty Spanish feat'.

In your previous post it sounded like you were discrediting them (hopefully you can see why Alissa & I thought that). But yeah, these are my two favorite national sides, I'm glad to see them both doing well, definitely cheering for Spain in the final.

Eventually they'll need to learn to share the glory though ;) (which is why I was pulling more for Italia this time around, to have a different winner for once)

Ramos was MOTM to me. He always puts in a good shift. What a gritty defender.
Is there a more underrated defender in world football?

All I ever read especially within Britain is that he can't defend, he's shit, a liability etc. Yes he has had stupid red cards for Real and makes silly fouls, Thiago Silva also makes stupid fouls and everyone is wax lyrical over him. Ramos is one of the best defenders in the world, IMO.

Italy played very well the first half, but even then both sides had good chances. Second half Spain had the edge. Extra time it was just domination for Spain.

Overall, imo Spain created a lot more chances. Personally if Italy had won I would have been disappointed.

Ramos is unsurpassed on defense, particularly when he is playing next to Pique for Spain. Plus he might be the best header off of offensive corners and free kicks. The guy combines athletic ability with desire. He's cut down on the cards and fouls, but it is hard for him to keep his strength within the rules.
