Congrats to all the Cules here. It was a tremendous match, and I've never ever seen Barca get pressured and even park the bus for a while as tonight. Of course the circumstances were such, but I'm really proud that Sevilla was the one that caused Barca to defend like crazy and try to counter-attack, which is not typical of Barca anyway. It also seemed a bit that it was not Messi's night... I knew it from the missed free kicks... he scored 2 of them easily in the first match in Uefa SuperCup.
Anyway, a great game in overall and simply, the best team won. Sevilla couldn't make use of the player advantage and ended up being pressured by a brilliant build up that caused a red card for our side, where Banega basically gave Sevilla just a mere 30 minutes to enjoy the show, as Barca's name was written in the trophy right after that tackle, which was a deserved red of course, just as Mascherano's. Refereeing was top-notch, and I would appeal to LFP to have such referees constantly in La Liga matches, a true gem of a referee!
Nevertheless, this again proved that La Liga is no joke, and even Sevilla can make Barca hang on to the ropes sometimes, which we surely cannot say for any EPL team or other leagues.
See you next season in the Spanish SuperCup in August!
