Thats not excactly true. In englad the premier league is valued more than the champions

Clearly not talking abt losing the cup to Espanyol, it's abt resting key players and not sacrificing them too much for a tournament we keep winning, because playing Messi a full 90, and still lost in the end, is a waste of his energy.

Winning the CL does not automatically make you the best team in Europe. Liverpool in 2005, Chelsea 2012, Real in 2014 and 2016 weren't even the best teams in their country. Chelsea in 2012 wasn't even the best team in London. Same for Liverpool in 2005 not being the best team in Liverpool.
