right, in relative terms (conversion rates) it is statistically unimpressive, but in absolute terms (which is, of course, what people really look at) his finishing numbers have been outstanding throughout his career. such that, as i said, once this element of his game (his only remarkable attribute) begins to wane, he looks terrible because his weaknesses are no longer masked by goals.

Whole Real Madrid is bad. Its normal that a player cant do all in his own, specially when he is almost 33 years old. Kroos, Modric and Casemiro cant create chances, they need a playmaker like Messi, Özil, De Bruyne, James etc.. His finishing isn't that good anyway. He relies on loads of chances put on a plate and several pot shots and penalties to get a big return of goals. When the service dries up so do the goals. Real have just been poor this season. If he played in an average team he wouldn't score half as many as he has.

Since he turned into a poacher he's become Andy Cole. Some e like Van Nistelrooy was a far better finisher yet history will record him as the best.
