I know I will definitely miss Messi and Ronaldo where they are both gone, but sometimes I wish the two were gone already. Too many Messi, Barca, Ronaldo, Real Madrid fans trying to bring their rivalry into every game, season, tournament and trophy etc. to argue for their respective opinion and agenda. Can we just enjoy football as it is? A rivalry is healthy and often needed to spice things up, but to put almost everything in the context of their rivalry is just so tiresome.

Good game by Ronaldo by the way today. Hope Messi shows up tomorrow.

Balon D'Or doesn't matter, winning with two different teams doesn't matter either. Portugal have the euros so Ronaldo has that but he didn't play well. He does have 5 Champions Leagues to Messi's 4 but that may change back in Messi's favour.

Messi has 9 league titles to Ronaldo's 5 and is clearly the better player when you watch them, Ronaldo can get close to Messi in goalscoring but thats it.

Football played is the only legacy worth talking about and Messi kills Ronaldo in that department. The gap between them as footballers has grown in the last few years, Ronaldo is still incredibly inconsistent whilst Messi is on it nearly all the time.

not every skill can be judge with eyes. messi have 0 skill outside of football. where is his leadership ? never give up mentality and his bravery?
