Sure, 80, 90 mill or whatever sounds great for a 33 year old, but in todays market what kind of replacement would we get for that money? Not a very good one. And the market right now is really bad for signing great attackers(most have new contracts and so on).
I reckon Ronaldo still have a couple of 40-50 goals seasons left in him, so unless they are able to bring in a proper replacement, give him that last contract extention, i would say.

Moving to Juve is great for Ronaldo. His legacy would be huge if he somehow makes serial bottlers in CL Juventus win their first CL after 20 years. Would basically be the cherry on top of an insane career.

Reading those comments above smh. Ronaldo and Messi both are great but they need good players to win trophies especially CL because every match counts. In all our CL victories Messi did not win the tournament by himself neither did Ronaldo. Only reason why we struggled last few years is because of our midfield is bad. I can see why he might want to leave. He's achieved everything there is to achieve at RM. Serie A would be better suited for him as he slows down. Plus it would be the perfect finish for his legacy. He's already got the brand recognition and fan base in England and Spain. If he does reasonably well in Italy that would be the bow on top of his career. From Madrid's point of view, now is the right time for a new start and to make the appropriate changes to the team. If they hang on to him longer they run the risk of developing a strong Ronaldo dependency on a less than peak Ronaldo. I still remember the crazy summer he signed. Can't believe that was nearly a decade back.
