I wouldn’t say it is the end. The end is when he or Messi retires. Ronaldo still has several years left in him. I see him playing into his late 30’s.

It is the end of a direct league duel between the two greats representing the two polar opposite philosophies in football. The two are almost synonymous with their clubs, because you always think of their peak forms. Will Ronaldo be better in Serie A or go anywhere close to matching his legacy when there? Maybe. He's a freak and Italian league is tailor made for workhorses like him. But Clasicos will be very different now.

Hi serghei, nice trolling lad.

Hazard is the easiest to sign. So maybe him.

Or Harry kane, now that they have 400M, they can surely sign him.

Not a fan of him leaving without explaining the motives why though. Seems the club have bailed under the pressure of parting with him on bad terms. Not very good for overall business.

You'll survive.

Wasn't there a promise that he'll have his contract renewed with a significant wage increase? He probably felt hurt when Perez didn't give it to him sooner so he took his toys to Juve. I can easily see this being the motive. It's consistent with his diva attitude imo.

There's also the fact that if he wins CL with Juve by being their main guy, he'll raise his profile as an all time great even more.

IMO, you did good not giving him better wages and letting his leave. You'd have a declining player with huge wages tied up until 2021. This way you got money and freed up a tone of money for his wages. Absolute no brainer from Perez and Real's perspective.

Plus when Messi retires...

In the future, La liga will hardly be as famous in the last 10-15 years.

Not necessarily. As long as Real Madrid and us are still competitive and financially top tier, the two teams will continue to explore and buy new star players. Of course, nobody in the next 100 years or so will replicate the Messi – Ronaldo rivalry and get up to their level.

Bad terms like what? You think he was forced out because you guys would not up his salary to match Messi’s?

I think it is a very good business overall for those three reasons I previously stated. Perez runs a tight ship. Smart guy.

Carzy that Barca fans think this is good for us. He has declined massively; sure he still gets goals in some of the key games in CL, but look at what he brings overall. Pretty mediocre in the league, has to be rested a lot. General play unless he scores is pretty rubbish. Not to mention, Madrid have to play to the fact that Ronaldo is upfront - there's a certain lack of freedom for other players around him.

He's 33. He didn't have a good relationship with Uncle Flo and wasn't the greatest for the dressing room. If we focused on our own weaknesses and played to potential, probably with a manager who's not as bad as the one we have, we could have easily stopped them winning at least 1 of the past 3 CL's.

This helps them move on before things start to go south (it's crazy how quickly people forget things - uptil CL KO everyone was saying he's done for good). Plus, they sell a 33 year old for 100m. It's crazy good business for Madrid - something similar to what I think we should do with Suarez (though ofc, Ronaldo is way way way better than Suarez).

Something greater??......... 3 CL's back to back and 4 CL's in 5 years..... C'mon now..

Not necessarily measured by the number of CLs, they could start the transitioning process much sooner and start building a team that is younger and more geared toward the future while everyone else (like us, Bayern etc.) are still clinging onto the old, that’s what I meant. They get a head start.

No. What I meant is that it all went down without anybody explaining any reasoning behind why he even considered leaving after years of saying he won't mind playing in Madrid until he's 40. RM supposedly laid down the law that they wouldn't let the negotiations progress until Ronaldo clarifies publically what he meant by his words after the CL final ended. Nothing ever happened after.

Basically RM buckled to his demands to leave to not tarnish his legendary legacy at the club with a mucky exit.

And as the old maxim states - if you don't know what it's about, then it's definitely to do with money.

I just wish Ronaldo had the nuts to publically admit it. He didn't. And now the club will have to deal with the rumor mill till the end of times.

Also, why did he leave so quietly? He's an absolute legend for their club, arguably the best player in the world (in the eyes of his fans) . Seems so strange to me. I think he fully deserves a farewell ceremony bigger than any other Madrid has thrown

How many players are going to come out and say "yes, I am leaving cause I want more money"? And of all the players in the world, you think Ronaldo was going to admit to it in public?

Well, a lot of your star players did not leave with a lot of fanfare so you will survive. Haha :p

It looks like he had a falling out with Flo over new contracts/wages and he just got served a prison sentence (waved). Pretty clear his feeling towards Real and Spain have turned sour.

Flo hasn’t even acknowledged it. It’s clear they are on bad terms

Cristiano's all 450 goals in 438 games (1.03 goal/game) for Real Madrid since 2009.

The best/greatest footballer to ever play for them IMO.
