Will you then partly blame Messi for Barcelonas poor league performances last season?

For me that would be silly, Messi was the leagues best player, Benzema was top 3.

Ronaldo could have performed better in some key games, i agree, but that wouldn't have been enough to get Juventus to compete with Inter, might have let them get to a semi or something with Portugal though.

Of course. But Messi also won Copa America with the most goals, assists, and most for all the attacking stats. That's the main reason for his Ballon D'Or case.

I know he depended on a strong Copa to win Ballon Dor, but its worth pointing out he lead most if not all attacking stats in la liga as well.
Difference is that he was let down by his team domestically, but not with his NT.
