200m a year tax free for two and a half years.. equivilant of making 800m odd in the Europe probably

Cant blame him one bit for taking that.

Can see him following in footsteps of wealthy American athletes and getting involved in Sports Teams ownership.

Lad is going to be a multi billionaire in a few years.

Worth destroying his legacy with United.. Not.

He doesn't need money.

His legacy there is fine.

What will be remembered there in long run is him at his peak more than anything else. As is always the way.

Players should just play for free... they dont need the money.

Good decision from him to take money now and unreal deal for a player past his best who has done about all can in club football.

At least this is a sign of him accepting that he's finished. Probably no interesting offers came in from Europe, he might as well make a truckload of money before retiring even if it might stain his reputation. Tbf the importance of him having a good reputation was always to increase his popularity, which is useless now that he's no contender for Ballon d'Or.

His popularity is still massive for him for a variety of reasons and is the basis of him getting this deal anyway.

It is an amazing deal that will open up so many opportunities for his brand going forward... assuming figures quoted are correct.

Also it gives him an out... undoubtedly there will be claims he turned down CL clubs whether true or not but he is onto next 'business' phase of career. That uplholds his repuatation in a lot of ways that struggling at a top league wouldnt across next few seasons possibly.

Every chance this is just all talk so he's in the news. Messi has been in the spotlight with performances at the world cup. We all know he can't stand that

What?s worth mentioning is that rarely has he been connected to MLS.

Still questionable whether he can enter US or not. Don't think he wants to go there, would be great for his followers though. Ibra was big in US, CR would be even bigger.
