Of Course Cristiano would be top 50, he would make my top 25 actually but not with the upper echelons.

My top 5 would be:
1.Maradonna
2.Pele
3.Messi
4.Cruyff
5.Zidane

Messi would move up to #1 if he wins a WC. He is most def the most consistant and best i have seen in club football, but to be #1 you need a WC imo.

I disagree with some of your choices, but we all have opinions

Why? I honestly can't stand that argument.

1) Are the teams he's playing against in a WC better than the ones he's playing every year in the CL? No, absolutely not.
2) It's a team sport. If his team isn't good enough to win it, they probably won't win it. One single player can't make all the difference.

3) The WC is a big tournament, the biggest tournament overall I'd say. But the quality, or the level of the football is certainly not the best. Just why would he need to win that tournament, when he's already proven himself against better opponents in a more difficult tournament?

It's just a question of prestige. Would he suddenly become a better player, if he managed to win a world cup? If yes, please explain to me why.

If it's a question of him needing to prove himself in the national team then he's already done that. Check out his incredible record he's got over the last years in Argentina.

In terms of achievements and influence with/at their club+country, I think the following players are ahead of C.Ronaldo:

Messi, Maradona, Pele, Cruyff, Di Stefano, Puskas, Gento, Garrincha, Didi, Rijkaard, Baresi, Maldini, Van Basten, Maier, Beckenbauer, Gerd Muller, Xavi, Iniesta, Zico, Socrates, Ronaldinho, Ronaldo, Romario, Yashin, Dino Zoff, Baggio, Eusebio, Matthaus, Laudrup, Maldini, Best, Bobby Charlto, Zidane etc...

It doesn't. Would just be interesting to know under which coaches, in which systems he could be playing.

If you want to make a list of the best football players of all-time, would you include Cristiano Ronaldo [in top 50 for example]?
I think all of us agree that Messi is in top 5?

Top 5: Messi, Maradona, Pele, Cruyff, Di Stefano? [in order]

Honestly sometimes I have the impression that even Cr. Ronaldo is better than Pele. Of course I didn't have the opportunity to see Pele play but as far from the youtube videos...I just keep wondering sometimes why he is considered by so many people the best . Is it mostly because he has 3 WC ?

I don't like Pele, but he was really good. Messi is better, because the game evolved a lot and it's harder nowadays. But Pele had amazing technic and ability. He also had a lot of marketing and politics on his favor, though. Havelange as Fifa president helped him a lot.

My top 5 would be Messi, Maradona, Cruyff, Pele, Beckenbauer.

Cristiano is quite underrated on this forum lol.

I'd say that Cristiano is definitely in top 20 of all time

Can you please explain why should Cristiano be in Top 20, what did he achieve in his career so far?
Cristiano is great goalscorer [that's it, although I don't consider him a great finisher he takes so many attempts in comparison with other World Class Forwards]. I can name 35+ players easily better than him in terms of achievements and influence on their Club+NT...

Another question, if want to make a list for the best players of all-time (top 50), will you put Cristiano ahead of Iniesta or Xavi?

Ronaldo is actually a great finisher.. just because he takes so many shots outside the box doesn't mean isn't a good finisher.
His stats are very deceiving, Cristiano is exceptional. Reached the Semi's so many times already, just needed a bit of luck.

Aanyways, he would be top 20 maybe even top 15/10. He is the perfect attacker. I would rate him above Iniesta and Xavi but that is only because Cristiano is the second best player right now and he is competing with Messi for years now and he isn't too bad doing it.
