Cristiano Ronaldo - v1

Real Madrid only need him to score tap in goals against the top tier teams.

To be honest this is more than what I can say about others who do not score tap ins, ie Neymar/Benzema.

Ridiculously easy and extremely dull, but when it comes to tap ins putting them away is better than not. Because when others miss you end up wondering what You would think that Madrid would make of any player a 40+ goal scorer in a season but its impossible. It is a talent in itself, to be at the right place at the right time and to have the anticipation + confidence to not screw it up.

He's missed fewer games than Messi this season in the league but by how much? Serious question.

Because both sit relatively close in terms of assist and goals. Under carlo he's improved his over all game I think but it isn't that much different than before, he always had a good number of assists.

Not to mention, not all his goals are tap ins, he's scored some ridiculous shots, and off the dribble. You guys are way too deep in animosity you miss the point and don't enjoy the game nor rivalry. What Ronaldo does on and off the field is his business and how you rate or view it shouldn't reach the levels of hatered it does with you guys because its not personal.

Anyone who claims that football is this personal to them and defends their overly emotional bashing of Ronaldo is just trying to one-up another on none existant grounds. Everytime I come in here I think someone is going to say something new or different about Ronaldo, like how he doesn't fit Real Madrid, or Real Madrid need to do without him and provide a reason.

And to whoever said that winning the CL gives Ronaldo that added legtimization, it 100% does. No doubt about that. Am I hoping he would get the recognition? Absolutely.

Winning the CL would give practically any player in the first XI of that team added legitimization and recognition. But with the added hype around finally getting the desired La Decima, the prize that Real Madrid thrives on, there are those who will then immediately qualify him as one of the best ever. But still, to be, it is an insult to players like Cruijff, Maradona, Best, Di Stefano etc to do that. He is just incredibly good at scoring goals, just like Gerd Muller was.

Don't take what we write too personally. I mean, I'm sure the level of hate for Leo on your forums is the same. It's just the way football works.

I'm sure Ronaldo is a decent guy. I don't hate him.

How do u rate him compared to Messi?

So Ronaldo was rushed back and played against Dortmund because he's obsessed about goals and personal achievements, right? Or have I missed it?

He's probably actually seriously injured. There's absolutely 0% chance that Ancelotti wouldn't have subbed him in around the 60th minute if he was fit. Dortmund were a whisker away from taking it to extra time.

Yes you have, the topic was about Ronaldo been selfish vs Schalke, basically playing with an injury and going all out to pad his stats.

Right...you know what I don't get about Ronaldo's fan....their urge to prove that he's the best. It's like you guys are his messengers or something.
Yes, I can give him a recognition. He is one of the best, but Messi is something else. How I know it? The sensation when he gets the ball. I don't quite get it from any other player except maybe Iniesta.
So no stats can fix that. If both leave Barca I will feel the same.
As a person, I do appreciate his work ethic, but I don't see him enjoying football. It's rather like he's working hard only for his ego. Messi on the other hand, pure talent, just doesn't care...doesn't do that much,
but still he's better.

Nearly every goal from him in cl this year is against shitty opponents. In total he hasnt been among the 20 best players in the world in 2014.

Couldn't be said the same thing about Messi's goals in the CL in 2011-2012? Because against Chelsea he couldn't even score from a penalty.

According to transfermarkt Messi has 25 goals and 11 assists in 1958 minutes, while Cristiano has 28 goals and 10 assists in 2378 minutes.
