Assulted? I only saw him throwing his own body towards the City defense asking for a foul. He is a great diver don't get fooled by his outcries.

To be honest, thats what I meant. I loved his antics after all the "fouls" on him, great great game lol.

Can anyone one explain who people always bring up strength as one of the arguments what Cristiano has over Messi? the guy is a blatant diver, especially when things dont go his way.
Yet people act like he is a strong player like Drogba cause he is muscular.

Hhmmm... I don't think Drogba is a good example of a player who stays on his feet...

I cannot stand Ronaldo, but he gets my respect for the $1.5 million he donated to the children of Gaza.

Although there was a rumour circulating online that his club donated proceeds from the sale of his golden boot to children in Gaza...I figured it was an attempt to curry some favour in his direction ahead of the Ballon D'Or voting...Would have been a nice gesture but I am skeptical

In the first 25 minutes alone he created three good chances, one the German Messi miskicked, another the German Messi couldn't head towards the goal, and the third the German Messi got in Benz's way. What more do you want Cristiano to do, ffs.
Marin was playing? :pep:

I'm not sure if that rumour is true that he sold the Golden Boot and donated it to Gaza....

Although this probably provides a motive:

I heard the same rumor; he supposedly donated the money to Gaza children, for building schools etc. The article also said that that's not the first time he donated money for the same cause. If it's true, I'm gonna forgive him all his dives. I'm sure he'll feel better :)

"The star forward gave his Golden Boot which he earned in 2011 to the Real Madrid foundation, RT.com reports. The Spanish giants in their turn sold it at auction and will now donate the funds to schools in Gaza, Palestine.

According to various reports, the Real Madrid Foundation has helped to build 167 schools in 66 different countries.

Real Madrid Foundation (FRM) had recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Aman Foundation at the Santiago Bernabeu in Madrid under which they will establish two sports schools in Pakistan.

No confirmation has come yet from Ronaldo’s official Twitter handle or from Real Madrid’s official site but it’s not the first time Ronaldo has given to charity. Last year he sold most of his sports shoes at a Real Madrid Foundation auction which was also dedicated to raising funds for schools in Gaza."

To be fair CR was never a bad bloke. Yes, he dives a lot and acts like a little girl out there, but off the pitch he seems like your normal football player.

As has already been pointed out, this story has not been confirmed by the club or player - remains a rumour

If true, a very welcome gesture by the club - not the player, as he has not been linked directly to the contribution...Still, curious if true

"Secondly, he had again lost out to Lionel Messi for an individual award, this time the LFP's player of the year 2011-12 trophy - further evidence, AS reckoned, that Barcelona's directors lobby harder for their players to win."

 award gets voted by the players. AS gold.
