If we look only at the stats, Cristiano is not even close to Messi and Suarez
That's true, and the thing is, stats only tell a fraction of the story. Messi, just by the way he plays, creates so much space for his teammates. He's often surrounded by 3 to 4 players who can't help but gravitate towards him whenever he's got the ball. Ditto for Suarez, Neymar and other greats.
Ronaldo is a good poacher and ok finisher but his shot to goal ratio is not out of this world. In 2015/16 in which his performance was hailed by many as spectacular, he scored 35 times in his 36 La Liga games. While that, isolated, is an impressive stat, gotta note that it took him 227 shots at goal to do so. That's more attempt than any1 else by far. Conversion rate is 15.42.
In all competitions (Liga, CL, Euro, Euro Qualifier), he's got a roughly similar average of 15.06% which is decent but not prodigy level. And those are the stats for what he's best at, scoring goals.
I think the dude's got skills and motivation up the ying yang but he doesn't even make my top 10 list of fav players in terms of completeness and overall contribution to the pot.
And it's not cuz I'm hating on RM, I'm a fan of Zizou and I like Bale a lot
