Cristiano Ronaldo - v1

am i the only person who didnt think it was a red :shh:

looked more of a dive, although i havnt seen it since.

The angle was unrevealing, but either way, Gabi's nose was bleeding, so that's probably enough. Gabi did overreact, though. But it was an obvious effort from Cristiano to kick him.

He made a meal of it a little. But he did get kicked in the nose hard enough to bleed.... And it really looked like CR aimed at his face lol. I think the red was definitely justified.

Getting hit in the nose hurts like getting kicked in the jewels, even the slightest kick can cause you great pain.

This. It was definitely intentional by Ronaldo. His reaction after committing it was like someone who just realized he had screwed up in a moment of frustration, but it was too late to regret. Just stood there for a minute or two and then left the pitch without complaining. He knew he screwed up himself.

... it was the third time in that game he just kicked a player whether he touched him this time or not doesn't matter. The rules are if your initial intention was to hurt a player you get send off. Simple as.

This game shows why CR7 will NEVER be looked at/remembered as a player anywhere as good as Messi.

His petulance, losing his cool, behaving like a spoiled child...

Messi NEVER conducts himself like that; Ronaldo's character is so so flawed.

Messi does that plenty of times.

I actually like ronaldo, seems like a decent guy. It's guys like Ramos, pepe, coentrao, marcelo that deserve hate

Messi gets angry. Remember he kicked the ball into the bernabeu crowd?

It's good though he wants to win, unlike some players from team like man city that play only for the paycheck
Getting angry and hurting players intentionally ate quite different things. All players get angry. Some retaliate, some don't.

Exactly. Kicking a ball is one thing, kicking someone in the nose is another thing entirely.

Well, getting a broken nose from a ball kicked intentionally smashing into your face ain't exactly what you would like either.

Right  He aimed on purpose. It's the same thing that cr did. That Messi burst was wrong, but is still different from intentionally kicking someone on the nose.
The excuses

Oh chill, it's just for an argument's purpose ;)

He did aim for the stands, which was careless and stupid cuz it's likely you will knock someone out with a shot like that. It's not like CR cared where he kicked him, he just bolted the foot up to kick him wherever he could, normal when you're frustrated.

Oh God, you have to be so careful with the wording with you lot.. It's normal for players to flip out in these circumstances. He's not the first and not the last to do it.

It was stupid and careless from Messi, I agree. But Cr went for the guys face, he wanted to hit him. That's not stupid, it's dirty, mean. It's not normal for a player to do that, for being frustated. we'd see a ufc fight every match, if frustated players decided to vent like that.
