Daniel Alves

I see Alves as Messi's big brother out on the pitch. The way Alves sets up Messi and the telepathic connection those guys has is insane. Also, when Messi missed a couple chances yesterday, it was Alves barking at him telling him to stay confident (I'm sure it was something like "cmon man stay in the game you'll bury one!"). Am I the only one who sees that?

its kinda odd actally that an argentina and a brazilian can bond such friendship. but they really are. they spent their holidays together last year and there were some rumours that messi married and dani was the only player that he invited (everybody else was only family)

Okay another thing, Alves was such a stud yesterday. Did anyone realize he broke off Ozil and CR with devastating tackles? His wonder juke/chip to the opposite post which was called for offside in the first half? He was immense and basically schooled MANY Madrid players on how to play the game. An inspired Pique and Alves was what we saw yesterday, and that's just the right side of our defense!!! Adriano and Mascherano were also on another level and brought their A games...

Tw James Harden (NBA player Oklahoma): "Hey @DaniAlvesD2 what's up?! Heard about your beard! Why'd you shave it? Could've been beard bros.."

For those unfamiliar with Harden:

One glaring missed opportunity by Alves vs Madrid. After his excellent dummy shot, he chose to chip to the far post where all the Barça players were offside. Messi saw it (look where he is pointing). Alves should have seen it too, since Sanchez was with him and made an outside run when Alves received the pass across the middle. But of course, Alves is no Mexaviesta.

Its really difficult in those situations to understand whats around him and I'd expect any player to either have a crack at goal or go for the cross but the right option was to pick out Sanchez and that's why the likes of Xavi are paid so much because they understand whats around them to perfection and have the ability a perfect a pass to make things happen.
