No, certainly not.

See just because I add 'certainly' to my opinion it doesn't make it any more than just that.

You think Chelsea would have sold their best center back? You're a bit foolish if you do....he isn't worth twenty million, nevermind the ridiculous fee he's gone for.

He has great anticipation and is good on the ball, two attributes that are not needed at Chelsea because they play with 10 defenders anyway. Cahill and Terry are decent defenders, nothing more than that, but people don't notice because, as stated, Chelsea play with 10 defenders. They would be beyond terrible at a team like Barça.

Just because Luiz makes mistakes doesn't mean he's worse than those two, he has a lot more going for him, things that those old-fashioned defenders can't even dream of and that are a requirement for a defender in modern football.

By the way, if Chelsea got an offer even half of what they sold Luiz, they would take the money and run. It's also about practicality, if you don't necessarily need a player and you can sell him for 60 million, you do it. With that kind of money, they can buy a better defender than Luiz, Cahill and Terry combined, or several talents with world class potential.

So glad that we didn't buy him.

Btw, is it just me, or has Thiago Silva declined a little bit? In those past 2 games, he hasn't been that impressive yet, or maybe it's because he hasn't been properly tested yet? YC now for Silva after a dirty foul.

He doesn't seem that weak to me during this WC, that said, he didn't have a great season when you compare it to the first season he had at PSG.

He should have got a red card in this game anyways.

Not really. I thought he was Brazil's best player today.

And to be honest, collectively - they were a mess. Silva did a good job trying to clean up that mess.

Got to love him. After getting owned and almost killing Hernandez the first thing he does is complain to his teammates for messing up, then acknowledging the referee's card decision, then apologizing to Hernandez. Guy oozes class and leadership.

I think Silva absolutely knew that he was risking a red card. He had to interrupt the 1-2 between Gio and Chicharito no matter what because everyone in front him had messed up pretty badly.
He made a quick decision to prevent a goal and got lucky that the ref decided for a yellow card.

Even David Luiz knows.

One of the most underrated players imo. His outstanding ability can sometimes make him a liability but the abuse he gets is ridiculous, he puts his body on the line every time I see him play and when he brings his 'A' game no other defender, including TS can match him.
