True, but Luiz has an awful lot of those performances. On his day he is an absolute beast of a CB but for the price he cost he has far too many games where he is a liability.
"L'Equipe notes DL 3/10, as best brazilian player yesterday. Which says a lot about Brazil performance since every single players did horrible last night."
"He entered the field while running with arms pointed to the sky. He left the field with his head lowered, angry and crying."
"While he didn't defend without any mistakes, he was the only one to try to stop Muller and tried to serve his completely static attack with long balls."
"But it didn't work out, and while his teammates did bad, he was at the origin of the fifth goal, and was too late to come back defending on the seventh goal. From germany".
We all know his transfer fee makes no sense. That doesn't mean he should be belittled and rated under CBs that are worse than him on average.True, but Luiz has an awful lot of those performances. I didn't say otherwise. But that doesn't mean he's the worst CB around like people make him to be. You guys are generalizing so much that's scaring.
Talking about Piqué and Mathieu, you guys seem to easily forget the terrible performances they had - like every CBs - from time to time.
You guys don't follow the french league, so you wouldn't know, but last year it happened that TS, yeah that TS that is said to be the best CB in the world, to have terrible performances on the field. Worse, he had average performances at PSG for months with all his fans here trying to make up excuses like "he's thinking about the WC" and all.
If I follow you guys logic, then Alex is the best CB in the world since he was the best CB at PSG last season, plain and simple.
But I know, you know, and we know it doesn't work like that.
CHELSEA manager Jose Mourinho has leapt to the defence of Brazil captain David Luiz after Germany humiliated the hosts last night.
Brazil were left battered, bruised and knocked out of the World Cup after Germany romped to a 7-1 victory.
And Luiz - who was handed the armband in place of the suspended Thiago Silva - came in for heavy criticism for his poor showing.
But Mourinho believes the 27-year-old does NOT deserve to be made a national scapegoat in Brazil, despite selling him to Paris Saint-Germain for £50million before the tournament began.
"I don't think it's fair to separate a player from the team, because the team was really bad," Mourinho said.
"David made mistakes? Yes he did. But Dante made mistakes, Marcelo made mistakes, Fernandinho made mistakes. The team as a whole made mistakes.
"So I don't think it's fair. I think everyone in my situation, everyone that is a player, everyone that is a coach, everyone that is not involved in the World Cup, but could be in that position - I think all of us are feeling really sorry for them. Because it is a historical moment."
Mourinho, hypocrite to the MAX!!!!! "I don't think it's fair to separate a player from the team....." Really Mou?!?!?!?!?!? Really? How many times did you call out Ramos and Khedira, among others, after losing games. Mou the master hypocrite.
