Also , since he is a striker , it was a dumb move to sell him. When we crushed Milan 4-0 at home , the formation of the team was great with Villa in front of Messi. Now we have no striker.

Perhaps he didnt want to leave Spain in a world cup year. If Tottenham was the only other club cl might have also been a priority. What ever his salary was it was seemingly high enough that it left us in a position where we couldn't say take it or leave it.
