Dayot Upamecano

Bayern have adapted well in this fucked up market, and go usually for solid players who are in tricky situations with their clubs. That can be exploited to cut the price down, and if they succeed in doing that, they get a good player for a much discounted price.

Also, they have good scouting.

Yeah it’s crazy that before Hernandez for 80m their biggest transfer was Tolisso for 40m. We look like clowns compared to them when it comes to spending.

Bayern are indeed building a talented team. But the question is if whether they're competitive enough in Europe.

Sure BuLi is theirs for years to come, but they need that little extra for the Champions League.
Experienced world class players like Lahm, Schweini, Ribery, Robben aren't there anymore and Neuer is coming to an end.

They look good on paper for the future for sure, but I'll wait with my verdict until they perform in CL.
Their current team is basically what many people here want us to have, a team with a relatively low average age.

Their asking price is 40m now (used to be 60m), I still prefer we wait one more year and get Konate.

Where did you get this from? Upamecano for 40m or even for 60m is a no brainer to me. We can still get Konate too in a year or two when Pique will retire. He has contract till 2023 and RBL probably won't sell him before 2022.

Only saw a secondary source reporting it but it seems to be from Sport Bild. Including a quote of Leipzigs sporting director saying it's important for them to not lose any player for free.

1 year of contract left and supposedly clause of 60M, so something in the 40M range doesn't seem that unrealistic especially considering the current economic situation.

Didn't read , but I don't think he will want another season in RBL.

He is on level above and can play almost in every club in Europe.

I think he has said he doesn't want to leave Germany. But who knows. I think we overrate him a little bit. He's been popular for years now and I'm sure most top clubs have scouted him well. If no club manages to convince him now it's probably because they consider him to be too big of a big risk and not a sure CB for years to come like many people here think (including me).

But the summer hasn't started and he hasn't renewed. So anything can still happen.

📰 [BILD🥈] | RB Leipzig have lowered Dayot Upamecano's price from ?60 million to ?40 million

Surely we go for him?

Bayern will sign him next summer and have probably backed off as seen to be tapping him up.

Sure this type of thing has happened a number of times when they are trying to sign players soon out of contract.

Absolutely. And by the way, Dayot has mentioned many times that his favorite places to continue his career are Barcelona and Manchester United.
