There will be one intense competition between him and Rafinha next season. I think he will win and we might have to say goodbye to Rafinha.

Denis is right footed, Rafinha left footed. Also, different kind of players. Denis looks most comfortable on the wing where his energy and speed come to light while Rafinha is slower player more comfortable in midfield.

No competition between two.

My reasoning is that we can only afford to play one "inexperienced" attacking midfielder in our starting XI. Lucho will have to choose between Denis and Rafinha. And performance as a starter is the key factor when we decide their future later. I don't think they can really secure their future in Barca by being a substitute.
From my personal point of view... Denis is more creative and Rafinha is a fighter. I think Denis will win simply because he makes more right decisions on the pitch.
Neither of them can become our back-up winger... They just don't look like a winger material to me... I kinda hope LSW can be our back-up winger in a few years.

Denis right now is more of a winger more than anything else ,either on the right or left side .one of the reasons I am skeptical about him
Also, the guy makes a lot of wrong decisions .that is one of his main weakness .Rafinha actually beats him at that area too .but Denis is more creative
Both are different players but I agree that there minutes will be related to each other, and there is a chance that the team might not be suitable for both to grow on the long run .

He's on this list. They will train with the team and probably play some minutes in friendly games before Euro. I think Del Bosque just wants to give them the opportunity as some of them will get a chance in WC qualifications after Euro. Denis most likely won't play in Euro if Spain won't have some serious injuries over the next few weeks but it's still good that he wasn't overlooked after a great season he had in Villarreal.
