Didier Drogba

Improvin' Perfection!!
Drogba is old though and at Barca you also have to press when you don't have the ball. How committed will he be to that at his age????He can get motivated for the big games and CL but he's not capable of performing week in/week out anymore. It's difficult to see him at Barca.....
whoever is going to play him week in/ week out anyway!?

Well, I'd also say Chelsea's season is hard to comprehend as a whole anyway...It's been erratic to say the least...He'd have a different role at Barça and would receive a ton of opportunities to score - far more service than he was getting at Chelsea

Yeah, I agree with that one FCBarca.

But the problem is would he be fine in that role? Something tells me he is not similar to Henke at all in terms of behaviour.

I like Drogba and all that but if he wins the CL this Saturday (which I think will happen) then how motivated can he possibly be?

The idea is brilliant but I am curious to see how it would work in reality should he move to us, which I still highly doubt.

"Francois Gallardo (FIFA Agent): "Drogba is looking forward to end his career at a club like Barça. Money is not an issue, football side is decisive. After the cup final, I will talk to Barcelona executives to inform them about Drogba's wish. I have the written authorization of Didier Drogba to hold talks with Barcelona."

Well, that's the rub eh?...I don't know what kind of teammate he is either but my impressions have been that he isn't a clubhouse problem but truthfully I don't know much about him...He seems to have many friends in the professional game and I can't recall many negative things said about him apart from his appalling theatrics

I read that comment in Sport and I also saw the program they refer to (Saw it after getting a link from a Spanish forum (Blaugranas.com) and this Gallardo saying it.

I still doubt it. Just in the last week 4 FIFA agents that claimed to represent RvP apparently contacted the club in order to start talks according to EMD.

Let's wait and see what happens when the CDR has ended and the negoatiations will start.

Here is the link btw:

They start talking about Drogba in the 37.15 minute. Gallardo is that guy on the right and he responds in Spanish.

It's mostly in Catalan (although they also switch over to Spanish) but since I speak both French and Spanish I understand the vast majority of it and they are claiming that Drogba is very eager to play for us but that he also has offers from other clubs. They also talk about how Messi would react to Drogba arriving and that Drogba was the type of player we lacked in the final part of the season etc. The agent (Gallardo) is obviously also claiming that the board like the idea. He also says that he talked with Drogba last Saturday where Drogba said that he would not continue at Chelsea.

FCBarca:

It's not that he is a problemtatic character (which he is not from what I know) but how motivated he would be and how useful in reality. Apparently he wants to move away from Chelsea because he is not playing enough. The same will obviously happen at Barca.

Well, in case Drogba doesn't come, Berbatov is available and would be a bargain. 31 years old, great technically and physically. Would be a good player for the bench, if he agrees to play that part again.

 money is not important. Offer him 1M a year (which is still a lot!) and see if he accepts.

Barcelona in principle don't plan to sign Chelsea forward Didier Drogba (34), although he'd be willing to lower his salary by 50%. [sport]
