Nobody wants Messi to injure himself.

But he should run more km than Pinto during a match. And he should never just walk around just because he got dispossessed by a defender and he doesn't want to do the dirty work of chasing.

Costa is very much a finished product but his technique and game intelligence prevent him from being as good as the previous #9 of Atlético... Selling him this summer is the best they can do, if Courtois is involved in the deal then even better, their game doesn't suffer that much when Costa is not on the pitch.

Falcao was a ready made product, Aguero was very good scouting but they did groom him well.
Costa only blew up this season under Simeone, he's been at Athleti for years, being loaned over and over.
Shame you forgot Forlan but he too was a ready made product.

Only one Athleti can really take full credit for is Torres.

Heard his injury isn't too bad, nothing long term.

Costa will be good here if he joins, we're apparently really going for him and will trigger his release clause. He's a better alternative than Cavani, cheaper and is the main man at a club with more pressuire than Cavani had at Napoli. Cavani has more consistency on his side though, but is currently struggling in the absence of Ibrahomovic as the main man atm, not good news for him.

Probably someone who they buy for around 10m, and hone into their new superweapon that they can sell for 50m in a couple of years again.

I'm sure that they will find someone that can keep the level that is required, I really like that there are more than two REAL competitors for the league title every year. This is good for the league and needs to continue, I hope that Atletico can keep their momentum and not sell away all their players who have gotten star-status this season. I trust their management will sort out the continuity somehow.
