Shakhtar wouldn't sell back then, one of the reasons they agreed to sell is that they crashed out of Europe.

Shag-miss-key? that's a really bad name, im sure you could come up with something better? ;)

Well they didn't want to sell him but when they crashed out they thought it was time to let him move on. We nogotiated with them including loan deals with future transfer fees but they never accepted less than 25M, and Pep is hell-bent on getting him while we could have gotten someone like Bruno Alves around the same region of cash. So we paid up

That oughta help you memorize.

 ok that cracked me up.. but the deal ends with the selling of Hunter ..
so i hope you were joking

According to Johan Derksen editor in chief of Voetbal International the deal was like that. He said from now on Ajax are supporting RM to be successful because they would get money whether huntelaar is at madrid or not. VI is quite/very reliable they usually dont deal with gossips, they wanna maintain a high profile and they are market leader when it comes to supplying football information in the Netherlands. He said this like 2 weeks ago after the transfer of Huntelaar to milan. So yeah I wasn;t joking.

Lass. Lass. Lass.

He got the nod & so Cuntelaar was unable to play in the CL.

Chygrynskiy can't play, just as Cuntelaar couldn't last season. Same.

a lot for a cup tied player IMO .. we are not talking about Dani Alves but some CB in Russian league here even with UEFA cup badge still

I don't think it's legally possible , the player deal and bonuses to his old club (ajax ) end with his departure from the club . there is no legally clause stipulate Real Madrid pay Ajax for a player who left in case they win the CL without him in the squad.
so in that case i think i will have to disagree

You haven't got a leg to stand on, Beast

Gio absolutely has a valid point, 25m Euros for a player who is cup-tied when he could have been bought two weeks ago for the same price and not have been cup tied?

If I pulled something like that in my negotiations class I would have been laughed out of the room by my prof and failed the course.

i do not think you guys understand how highly pep rates this player... this is the man that is expected to be our starter for the next years to come... 25 mill in this market? only 3 mill more then lescott.. it is a hefty price to pay, but he is young, nowhere near his TOP potential, and has all the ability to be a world class defender and the perfect compliment to Pique.

Take your time, and read back through the thread. I'm not talking about the Chyg deal alone, I'm saying that it's similar to the Huntelaar deal. It is. Chygrynskiy is unable to play in the CL, just as it was with Huntelaar.

U need to go back to class Steve..
Huntelaar was not cup tied , it was a our choice to reg. Lass not Huntelaar ..
and u don't have the urgency during mid season due to unexpected injuries to buy a CB who is cup tied..
it's different

Diego people said the same thing about Caceres to justify his high price tag ..
how much he played ? and where is he now ?

Pep a great manager but scouting and judging players talent is something else, not every great manager is an excellent scout. had he had his way last season and sold Eto'o and bought Adebayoor things could have been quite different now

Dymtro is much more experienced then caceres and on a whole diff level..

once again i stress we do not need him in CL and 25 mill in this market is not anything unusual...

only time will tell if Pep is right

Well maybe you should consider it like this. Let’s say huntelaar went to RM for 20M, RM pay(installments) ajax 5M over 4 years. Within 6 months Huntelaar transfers to Milan. Now does this mean the deal between RM and ajax ends? No. the contract is still in effect between the clubs and RM still have to continue paying. Now lets say Ajax calculated this scenario beforehand and therefore negotiated this term(bonuses) in the contract. It’s a possible scenario, but likewise I don’t know if it’s legally possible.

But I do agree with you about the Chygs deal. We are paying too much for him and the management should have signed him much earlier(cup tied), management made a screw up imo.

Both players had played in Europe. You had to choose between the two, meaning that one couldn't play. Simple stuff here. Huntelaar didn't play, Chygrynskiy won't play. Let's just hope we don't piss our money away and tell Chygrynskiy to fuck off to Milan after half a season.
