The novelists employed by the English media really are something else.

It's not that unbelievable really. The Telegraph are generally quite reliable aswell. If Dzeko told us to sign him he probably asked a few other clubs to sign him too, but none of them will be able to afford him.

Yeah, it really is unbelievable at least to me. But I follow the bundesliga. What seems odd to me:
1. that he'd put in writing the wish to play for city
2. if he did, why don't they publish a facsimile of said letter? And which language was it in? And who translated it? Am willing to bet that Dzeko's english is...minimal at the very best.
3. Dieter Hoeness (brother to Bayern exec Uli and one tough sob) has set the sale price at 40 million euros and this is not a guy who's going to back down, so the 'wolfsburg isn't doing well, city will be able to get him cheap' argument is, frankly, crap. Especially since wolfsburg definitely do not need the money.

1. May not have been him but certainly his agent or somebody from his end has said he would be very interested.
2. You really think language is a barrier in football these days?
3. Who said he'll be going cheap? We could easily afford the asking price even if Tevez stays. We could even throw in Santa Cruz or Adebayor as a sweetener.

Look, it's Man City...Everyone who's looking for the 'next' payday tries to make a Man City plea

Yea and every player that joins Barca takes a pay cut....

I have yet to see any credible evidence that he's interested in city, sorry. So the whole thing still ranks as 'fiction' (and not very credible fiction) to me.

Think what you want.

It's been reported at the same time (so it is not copied) in various newspapers so it has come from somewhere.

Yep, they're all quoting the article you linked. :) The only thing that indicates to me is that gossip site (ie, goal.com) read the unreliable and mostly fictitious english tabloids.

They aren't though. The Telegraph is a decent paper actually. But you know them better than I do obviously....

Are you upset that Dzeko could be coming to City or something? If Tevez leaves we'll be buying two quality forwards in January and he could very well be one.

Nah, I just think that 99% of the english media - as it relates to football - is crap (including this story). I don't really care where Dzeko goes.

I'm not a particular fan of City but I'm not a particular fan of any of the english clubs. just don't like the style of play.

Well I think Serie A is doggers and corrupt tbh and the home of washed up footballers.

I agree that 99% of the tabloids are crap but papers like the Telegraph and the Independant are very good newspapers.

So, since he's not seriously going to stay at City for more than a year or 2, where will he end up after to resume his career?
