Dont really have to be that extreme.

The midfield just has to move the ball quicker to the front three and concentrate on not getting caught up the park as Real are still one of if not best team in the world that Bafca could come up against at breaking.

Sevilla sat a bit deeper and broke down the left, allowing FB on that side to overload on Danilo.

Would not be surprised at all if Barca do the same with Neymar/Alba and rest of team other than Suarez and Munir a bit more conservative.

We might have to be. Their midfield has the quality to make us play a reactive game, in which they dictate the tempo. Depends on how Benitez set's up. If he's ballsy he can make us play on the counter, especially on their home ground. It can be a game like the one we won against Atletico in the Copa, 3-2, only against a team that attacks much better than Atletico did in that match. If our defence holds up and can resist the pressure, we will make them pay on the counter. If not, I see us conceding twice at least.

Let's hope the defensive part of Benitez shows up at this game.

There is no chance Barca will just try to bypass midfield. The maximum Lucho will do will be to ask midfield to play it forward quickly rather than dominate ball but still go through them for most part.

You don't think there's a chance we will make a play passing from the defence to one of the MSN, and then carry a 3 men attack? We already did that against Atletico in the Copa, when Neymar scored for 1-1. We also did that a lot in the game we won against Madrid 2-1 last year, when almost all of our midfield play was subdued. Suarez' goal for 2-1 was, again, bypassing the midfield.

On occasion Barca will go from defence to attack but it wont be any heavy tactic I dont think.

The difference with the Atletico game was that Barca were winning from first leg and Lucho wanted to force an open game knowing it suited Barca. The front three barely came back and ball cleared wide early. He did same vs Bayern 2nd leg.

This game doing that would be huge risk as Barca dont have advantage of being ahead already and other team needing 2/3/4 if Barca scored one or two.

The Suarez goal in 2-1 win came from bypassing midfield but for most part that was not the tactics.

We'll see. If Real tries to win the midfield, we can even challenge them and try to control it ourselves, or we can find other ways to engage the MSN, while keeping Busi, Rakitic and Iniesta more defensive oriented. Thing is the players we have up front allow us to think about multiple options. Suarez is a great target man, that part of his game is so underrated. He will win balls if engaged purely because of his ability to wrestle with defenders and end up on the winning side more often than not.

Let's see how Real set up first. We have the luxury (+3 points) to play reactively.

@jamdav

Well we are ahead, the 3 points advantage basically gives us the upper hand.

That is different that going into a game when even a one or two goal loss would still qualify or win the tie.

There is no chance Lucho plays the Bayern/Atletico tactics in this game. The front three will defend.
