Well, according to Sport.es and ElMundoDeportivo press Barca could offer 8-10mil euros for 26 year old Arsenal right back Emmanuel Eboué.
My opinion is that even he's been in lack of form during last year or maybe even two, he could be great replacement for Alves when he needs a rest. Also 10mil euros is fine amount for a quality player like Eboué. Also this will give more options in defense, cause Puyol is only player in our squad who can play on Alves position at high level.
Conclusion: I will go for it!

He is talented, but I would not spend money on a player guaranteed to be out for most of the African Nations. If we want lower cost, we should find a rated young internationals who have big future (like Fergie did with Fabio-Rafael) and value for money down the road. That's how most of the key parts in the triplete were made.

I agree that CB and DM positions are more important to us to be covered with decent subs, but if Arsenal say yes, i say again - I will go for it. African cup only lasts month and a half, and it will be over just in time for Alves to get some rest for final push in all competitions. I know that Alves is a beast, but even he needs some rest. In final days of La Liga and CL it was clear that he was a bit tired, and that's no good for our defense and equally for our attack. Also, with our lack of quality CBs, counting on Puyol to cover that position in case of injury or cards is not good. That's all I'm saying..

i would have supported the move if not for the african cup, at a club like barca the quality of players either rise of the go, eboue looks like he has quality waiting to shine.
