A real shame that we do have players that can make a real difference in getting the board to act on things.

Yet they would rather use it to keep Valverde despite the massive Failure vs Roma and Liverpool, All because they know that their spot is secure. I have given up on the idea of us winning a CL with the old core as they seem more interested in personal stuff than sports stuff.

Dont bother with them anymore, they will continue to destroy Messi's remaining time here. To carry your team to semi final and all of his teammates sucked so bad, Alba, Busquet, Suarez should be benched or at least challenged for their position.

The sad part is Messi, would benefit the most of a new set of core players behind him.

A new Midfield trio who are mobile and strong on the ball+Mobile FW, Pacey wingers. Sure they won't be as good as some of the guy's Messi ever played with such as Xavi, Iniesta, Prime Busi, Prime Suarez, Eto, etc but they don't need to be.

Messi clearly was devasted after the Anfield disaster as he really wanted the CL. But let's get real here, If he really wants to win the CL again, he needs to use his position to demand changes and stop letting deep friendships with certain players influence things.

He's the GOAT and the god damn captain of this team, He can easily put the likes of Alba, Rakitic, Suarez, Pique, Busi, etc in line if he has to as there's no way they will go against him. Sure they are his friends and played alongside each other for years now, but if he wants to win the CL again he needs to realize that these guys are no longer the same set of players they were(Bar Alba) as they declined and no longer have the same motivations as they once were.

I don't give a shit if Valverde is a hands-off approach guy if he's not the right guy to lead us in the right direction then he needs to go. We won't win the CL with these same old core players starting the majority of the games, Leo can pull off various heroics to get us to the QF/SF but it would end up being meaningless if we go out due to poor coaching and the old core players not being good enough anymore to get us to the title.

Players are heavily over-payed and are hands down laziest bunch out of all top clubs worldwide, and now it's been confirmed what we guessed long ago: they actually decide about management stuff. What the hell are we turning into?

Messi alone could get Valverde fired if he wanted it, one call to Barto or even one interview would probably be enough and he'd be gone instantly no matter what he won or what the other players say.

So it's hard to feel bad for him, he is to blame as much as the rest of the seniors that want Ernie and their safe starting spots. It sucks that we have to see his last good years in this boring, slow, CL bottling team that he has to carry all by himself but apparently that's what he wants.

Leo needs to realise that if he wants to win the CL again, he needs to step out of his comfort zone. I understand that he is probably afraid of that, but it's the only way I see us doing somethig on the Europeqn front.

If he doesn't do that, we will be winning Liga until Real rebuilds (realistically 2 years from now). But if we do nothing, we aare in for a really shit chapter in the history of Barca after that.

Rm are rebuilding as we speak while Barça are in self destruct mode. This club is too passive and reactive. Only bad seasons bring about change. It's no coincidence that trembles were won after trophy less seasons.

Fuck Valverde and Barto.

A player doesn't need an armband to be influential.
Messi being captain is mostly symbolic as he leads the team on the pitch with the ball at his feet.

Plus it's the squad that chooses the captain at Barca, they clearly want Messi to be the front figure.
At Real Madrid the captain is the player who's been the longest in the first team.
Thus, being a captain rarely equals being the loudest on the pitch nowadays.

Making Vidal captain won't change a thing.

Exactly! the passive-reactive part is just crazy and worse, half the time, their reaction is effed-up.

Not just for the Cules, Messi's been a beautiful gift for anyone really who loves football.

That's huge! and board failed time and time again to make the most of it.

instead, with Leo bringing the trophies home, they just become lazy and complacent.

It's like they were given a 69 Shelby 500, so they'd still win the race around the block but they never tried to really drive it proper. That's crazy! Do they even like football?

With GOAT in their stables, they should've been maniacal, shrewd, dedicated, overzealous perfectionists :xavi:
