Heads should have rolled after Anfield.

Everyone at the club, from the players to Bartomeu, insisted it wasn't Valverde's fault. Fine. Let's assume it wasn't.

Whose fault was it then? The only ones left were the players. And yet they refused to take any responsibility, and the club went into the following season with basically the same squad + Frenkie and another one of Barto's 100 million euro dick waving signings that he had no idea what he was doing with. Busquets, Pique and Alba are still starting to this day. They should have been gone after Anfield, especially since they insisted it wasn't EV's fault. If it wasn't EV's fault then it was most certainly theirs. And yet, no reinforcements in those positions. No plan to replace them. Nothing.

A proper elite team would have fired the coach, done a review of the squad from top to bottom and identified players that need to be replaced. At the very least Busquets, Pique, and Alba would no longer be starting the following season.

Our response (or lack thereof) to Anfield was disastrous, from top to bottom. From the president to the coach to the players. No one took any responsibility and no one made any attempt to fix anything.

Anfield finished this club.

Well written and exactly what Barca should have done otherwise.

They thought it was another "accident". Rome and Liverpool are too big accidents to just wipe under the carpet.

Would be very upset at what Barca has become

He deserves credit for his 17/18 and 18/19 seasons but even with him you could see in the first half of 19/20 that barca looked exhausted mentally. The 0-3 and 0-4 were too much for the players. We lost lot of points against small teams and thats why he was sacked.

Still at the top of the table at the time he got sacked though.

That said, of course some exhaustion is to be expected, few teams win 2 in a row, and keeps it going for another half(could have been 3 in a row if Valverde stayed).

The team was broken after the anfield and we had terrible transfer market in 2019, the fans and the sporting director wanted EV fired and the squad was old.
Of coarse we would look terrible, years of awful planning has done that.
Ideally he should have left in 2018 summer btw, but Bartou wanted to wait for Koeman
Up to this day I wonder if we stick to initial plan and didn't sign Griezmann and got De Ligt and Mendy instead of him and Firpo. We would have been way better than we are today.

Sure he is sipping a glass of fine wine on his beautiful estate laughing his arse off at what we've become without him. Laporta should do the right thing, get on his knees and beg for this top 5 manager in the world to make a comeback.

"EV is ruining our great talents like Semedo, Arthur and Dembele, Xavi is the chosen one!" This was the consensus opinion on this forum not too long ago.
