Europa League 23/24

Real doesn't.

Barca hasn't even reached these finals in recent years and have suffered consecutive CL humiliations way before getting to finals.

Penalizing Liverpool for reaching finals while other clubs struggle to clear group stages.

Barca fans forget that before their golden era started in 2006, they had 1 CL trophy in their history and are still behind us after their golden era.

Calm down and be humble lmao. Every club except Real can be framed as "bottlers" based on this line of logic.

Football moves in cycles and every club takes L's(even Madrid).

But Barca fans flapping their gums and calling a club with more historical pedigree as bottlers is hilarious.

This just proves that they jumped on the Prime Barca/Messi bandwagon and know fuckall about the history of Barcelona.

There's no fanbase that can give Liverpool shit about this stuff except Real Madrid. It's that simple.
So easily triggered.

Barca has been in a shit period since 2018/2019. The whole premise of a bottlejob is that you're in a good period/golden period and still manage to come up short. It's a failure to deliver on exepectations/promise.

There's no doubt you lot have underdelivered in the last decade. 1 CL and 1 PL is a shit haul for 9-10 years of Klopp and 7-8 years of good to great players.

Pool in the 70s and 80s in that other golden period were not like this and were serial winners - just since then, your club has taken on a different trajectory for the most part.

There have been a variety of reasons for that. Convenient to ignore the relevant context completely. The most important being that we have competed against a nation who build up fake companies to "sponsor" funds into the Football Club exploiting financial loopholes leading to 115 FFP breaches.

Facing an organic big club like Madrid is very different to facing a state funded financially doped sportswashing exercise.

Who knows if they are found guilty, we might be awarded some more big trophies.

Also, no one said this is our golden generation. Our golden generation was a literal winning machine in Europe and England. This is our best generation in the modern era after the club went through a long spell of mediocrity.

Folks in here mocking us like we're Arsenal while watching their team being humiliated by the who's-who of Europe every year is ironic to say the least.

I have been critical of Klopp losing finals against Sevilla and Madrid but the notion that we should be labelled "bottlers" after reaching 3 CL finals in a 5 year spell with a lower net spend than midtable PL clubs is ludicrous.

The institution of Liverpool Football Club is everything right and beautiful about Football.

Peak Real and Barca had better squads and players than Klopp's Liverpool. Klopp raised the bar so high by consistently overperforming that detractors try to paint 3 CL finals in 5 years as abject failure.

Courtois
Carvajal Ramos Varane Marcelo
Kroos Casemiro Modric
Bale Benzema Ronaldo

MATS
Rapist Pique Mascherano Alba
Xavi Busquets Iniesta
Messi Suarez Neymar

Allison
Trent Matip Virgil Robertson
Wijnaldum Fabinho Henderson
Salah Firmino Mane

These are the best 11s from Real, Barca and Liverpool's recent successful era.

The only Liverpool players to walk into the combined 11 of these 3 teams are VVD and Allison. That's it. End of the conversation. The other Liverpool players won't even get a shout in any of these other positions; not even a debate.

Ofcourse, we won't be as successful with this team as the other 2 clubs were in that isolated period.

Klopp and the scouting department still did a remarkable job in these 9 years.

That back 4 is unbelievable TBH.

2 all-time great attacking full backs and 2 fast, mobile, strong, good on the ball CBs who are also dominant in the air.

Messi-Alves overlap on right flank and CR7-Marcelo on left flank. Oof.

Would be quite the press resistant back 4 that, Ramos and VVD would play long and with great accuracy when short options are few, Alves and Marcelo have great technical ability, so good luck taking the ball without fouling them.

You agree with Busquets over Casemiro?

Unfortunately the Ronaldo from that squad wasnt known for his winger skills

if we put spiky hairnaldo from 2012 + 16/17 Marcelo on the left wing

+ Pep Messi + Pep Alves on right wing

=

The end of the world

Doesn't matter. Virgil's GOATed diagonal balls over the top - Ronnie recieves it and finishes it all day.

Also, if you want to get the best out of old Ronaldo, just play Trent and let him cross it to CR7 all day. Best crosser after Beckham..

Ronaldo is also one of the best headers of the ball in history, some of his headers don't even make sense.

If Messi don't randomly go past 3 players or score a free kick on the day, you could always just spam crosses to Ronaldo vs low blocks.

If you need crosses, call TAA. Only Beckham was better at crossing.

This is the main strength. If you try to play more open and attack head on, (prime) Messi will absolutely devastate you in a more open field or on transitions.

If you pack the box like Atletico used to with 2 lines of 4, CR7, Ramos, VVD will dominate on crosses/corners etc.

So, basically there's no way to play them. The team covers the "weaknesses" of prime Barca/Pool and prime RM
