Despite being completely average on almost all aspects of the game, McTominay's skill on the ball is surprisingly really good. Really knows how to carry the ball and resist pressure. Other than that, useless lol

McTominay and Cavani looks to be the best players of United, most of the others are expensive "good players for bad teams"

A bit disappointed with that finish by Pau, was a real nice chance there, arrived at in a nice calm way.

Game has gone how most people expected it to. United with the play and Villareal just sitting back.

Pretty boring final all in all. Villareal seem dead tired. Pretty sure they will play for the shootout, and maybe try to knick it with a set play. I understand that United is the better side, but is Villareal that far inferior? The way they play, it makes it seem to be a Real vs Leicester City match up (which is similar to what it would be if the league positions were reversed).

What you expect Villarreal to do?
United has by far the better squad, Villarreal are simply maximizing their chances playing this way.

Because of the pretty early goal, they got into that situation to defend and it's hard to switch focus. They looked tired early and will surely try to hold on for penalties.
Of course they should be much inferior to United

Villarreal don't have the pace to challenge Man Utd to an open game. But they are doing well considering their limitations.

It is a bit like ourselves on a lower level over the recent years. Not dynamic enough to open up the game and take advantage of the space of the opponents.

I understand that United is the better squad, but big names on paper aside, is the difference between the quality these teams produce normally AS big as what it seems like in this game? I think Villareal are better than what they are showing. While I still expect United to be attacking and on the offensive, Villareal have been clearing balls from minute 1 as if it's minute 90. That's a very 'small team playing giant' mentality.
